"I apologise for upsetting you earlier, about your friends. I just want to protect you. I hear and see a lot more than you or any other employee knows." Charlie sincerely said, watching for Evie's reaction.
Evie shook her head, "No, it is my apology to make. I shouldnt have stormed off. I was not upset with you, it was something else and i took it out on you. I shouldn't have, so i am sorry."
Confusion in his eyes "What upset you? Jaxon?" trying to put what he had seen together. She was fine before her phone call.
"No, Jaxon is lovely. He is a kind friend."
Charlie was pleased that she called him a 'friend' and not something else, as this meant she had friend zoned him.
"So what is it? I may be able to help you." he said as he placed his hand back on Evie's in a caring gesture.
