Evie’s POV
A feeling of guilt flooded me. Did he see me? If so, how long was he watching for? He’s probably hurt.
Jaxon hadn’t noticed that I had seen Charlie, he was still chatting away, but I had no idea what he was saying, it was almost like something you see in a film when someone is distracted and all you see is someone's mouth moving but hears no words.
"Evie? Earth to Evie?" Jaxon said as he slowly waved his hand around trying to gain my attention.
Blinking and shaking my head, "Oh so sorry Jaxon, I saw someone and got lost in thought", I straightened myself up. "I am just going to pop to the ladies' room if you don't mind."
