The Knowledge Of The Legendary Moonstone

914 Words
After Nancy got to bed, she was thinking about the secret passage the old woman mentioned in her story. “What if her uncle found her through that way?”, she thought to herself. Laying her head firmly on her people, she slept and had a dream. She heard a voice crying for help. The voice had a hideous image with big red eyes. Nancy stood watching the figure. She was very afraid. The voice kept crying for help. The image moved and sounds of chains clanging against each other were heard. Nancy woke up and gasped for air. Realizing it was a dream, Nancy laid back in relief. She couldn't sleep again until morning. She just stared at the hay ceiling. She got up and walked outside to find the old woman. She saw her seated on her regular log and ran to her. Nancy: I had a dream. I saw an image behind bars screaming for help. It had big red eyes. Old woman: Big red eyes? Nancy: Yes! The old woman guessing which image Nancy saw in his dream asked Nancy attentively. Old woman: Have you ever seen your father transform into a wolf before? Nancy: Once! When I was very little. He transformed at a powerful full moon and I couldn't recognize him when he approached. I was scared and I cried out loud. He then promised not to approach me transformed as a wolf again, until I was old enough to understand who he was. Old woman: Big red eyes huh? Nancy: Yes! Old woman: Hmm, it appears that your father might be alive! Nancy: How? Impossible. Where? Old woman: I don't have the answers now but it appears he might be locked up in an an ancient prison and chained. The prison might be locked with your uncle's blood. Nancy: I don't understand, he has been alive all this time, not only did my uncle kill my mother, but he has incarcerated my father too? Old woman: Come down my child? Now tell me what happened before the night incident and your father's disappearance. Nancy: Father and the elder wolves had more meetings frequently. Father took me to one of their meetings. Uncle Leslie suggested that their borders should be extended to the far side of the North and temper into the land of the humans who did not know of our existence. Father suggested that it would only bring war. Uncle Leslie persisted that it will bring wolf dominance and unquestionable power. He was all about power. The council rejected his opinion. He stood up angrily and said “This would have been easier if I was the Alpha”, he left hurriedly. Old woman: Continue…. Nancy: He formed a group of black wolves. A few of of them were the ones who chased me in the woods. They work for him. I'm sure they have taken over the castle now. Three days later, my dad was missing. We looked everywhere for him together with our uncle. My mom cried a lot that night. I did my best to comfort her because I didn'tt want to see her cry. Old woman: When did Leslie attacked you and your mother. Nancy: Two days later after we couldn't find my father, uncle Leslie was trying to convince my mother to unite with her and rule by his side as the new wife of the Alpha. My mother refused the offer. Uncle Leslie got offended and tried to kill her. Mother ran for her life. I stayed in my room hoping for the best. Mother gave him a chase of a run around the house. With little strength left in her, she entered my room and locked it. Uncle Leslie broke the door because he had transformed into a werewolf. With my mother as her target, he pounced and held my mom by her neck without realizing I was in the room. My mom stretched her hand to me and told me to run. There was little I could do to help her. Afraid for my life, I ran out of the room and raced for the door. I met his wolves outside but ignored them and continued running. After several yards away from the castle, I heard barks behind me, I knew then that I was in trouble. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. That was when ended up in the waterfall and found my way here. Nancy cried uncontrollably after sharing her story. Her mom in Leslie's mouth was the last picture she had of her in mind. A thirst for revenge then started to rise in her heart for the first time. Old woman: I'm very sorry my daughter. That was the saddest thing I ever heard. When my daughter was devoured, I cried uncontrollably but Khalood gave me courage. I had to take care of him to fulfill my daughter's dying wish. Nancy: I will have my revenge. Old woman: There is something you must know. It is something no one knows about here in the village. The moonstone! Nancy: The legendary moonstone? Is it real? I read about it in my library. History says it is an asteroid cracked from the moon. It is endued with power! Old woman: Unspeakable power my daughter. I will let you harness its power and use it to defeat your uncle. It is time! Nancy stood and followed the woman to the cave.
