Matters Of The Storm
Thunder strikes through the clouds and rain pours down heavily. No wolf was seen on the park. But there was some activity in the Medieval Castle, the reigning home of the Alpha, Tagil.
Nancy stood by the window and watched as her uncle Leslie, a black werewolf devoured her mother.
She would help if she could but she could not because she was half-blood and she couldn't transform. Leslie had chased Mrs Selene throughout the entire building.
Mrs Selene, knowing the routes in her household well, gave the wolf a pretty chase. But her human legs soon got tired and she halted in her room where the wolf pounced, grabbed her neck, and started to devour her.
Gasping for breath with no defense, Mrs Selene stretched her hand toward her daughter and uttered her last dying words to her daughter
“Run!”. With tears, Nancy fled from the room and out of the castle into the forest with Leslie's wolf chasing after her. Her father, the Alpha wolf, who could stop this tragic incident, had mysteriously disappeared.
Nancy fled into the woods. Not long before she heard footsteps sound a little far behind her. Terrified, she began to take on her heels. It was Leslie's wolves.
Leslie had commanded his wolves to find Nancy and kill her after he had successfully killed her mother. Leslie was ruthless. With no mercy, he devoured his brother's human wife, took over his home, and sent his wolves to kill his only child.
Nancy ran as fast as her legs could carry her. At the age of 13, Nancy's legs were not a joke to be dealt with in racing. Leslie's wolves were not to return without taking the life of this young lady.
The four wolves had only one target and they had to report to their master with confirmation of Nancy's death.
Nancy jumped every log and slid down every hill as she never looked back. As long as she could hear barking behind her, she wouldn't look back but keep running.
Nancy ran out of roads and halted at a cliff waterfall. The way down was very far. She stood looking down wondering what to do. Before she could come up with a plan, Leslie's wolves were on the scene
With bloodthirsty eyes, they surround the poor girl ready to pounce on her. These black wolves have a taste in human blood and this was going to be a feast granted to them by their master.
Nancy, out of ideas, took steps back closer to the end of the cliff and jumped. As her body fell in mid-air at high speed, she covered her nose before her body splashed at the depth of the waterfall.
“Come on”, one of the wolves shouted to the rest of the chasers and they rushed down to the falling point of the waterfall. They searched gallantly but going into the water was the last thing on their minds.
They might not get the food they are looking for, let alone get wet. That was a risk they were not willing to take.
After a thorough search and much convincing that the girl was dead, they raced back to the castle to report to their master.
At one point, the water started bubbling, it got more intense and the little girl gushed out of the water and was gasping for breath. She swam to shore and slept on the sand.
The incident at the castle still played fresh in her mind. She lost her only mother and her dad was nowhere to be found. What was she going to do? Where would she go?
After being satisfied with rest, Nancy stood up and began walking to where her mind knew nothing of. She would just walk and walk and who knows, something good might happen, she thought to herself.
She was hungry and thirsty, the water at the waterfall was salty and she barely held her eyes closed as she tried to save her own life by staying underwater throughout the wolves' cunning search for her.
She walked for 292 kilometers. Her feet were now hurting and her stomach burned with heat. There was no single fruit in the forest as it was not their season.
Even though her feet hurt, she decided to push a little further until her eyes closed. Taking her steps one at a time, she came on a hill and saw smoke rising from the middle east of the forest.
Cracking a smile on herself, Nancy took her time, one step at a time, and followed to the location of the smoke. As she got closer, she could hear indistinct chatter a little bit further.
Nancy got to a village and saw people minding their business. They were not wolves. They looked like humans just as Nancy was.
With a smiles on her face, Nancy walked faintedly to the middle of the village. Everyone gazed at her. Assured that she was in a safe place, she opened her mouth to utter a word when her strength failed her.
She slowly closed and fell. She had fainted. She became unconscious.
Leslie's wolves returned to the castle and reported the news…
Leslie: Are you sure she's dead?
Kagyrna the leader of the devourers, the name given to Leslie's wolves, replied to her master
Kagyrna: With a height that tall, no girl would survive such a fall even if she was a true wolf.
Leslie: Very well. Let's hope so. Because if she lives, then be lucky that I don't find out because if I do, I will devour you instead
Leslie roared at the devourers and they fled from him. Leslie got rid of Selene's body and took over the Alpha Medieval Castle, the home of his brother.
Leslie summoned all the wolves living in the province of the North to Medieval Castle.
He told the wolves that his brother killed his wife and disappeared. He as a loyal wolf would take over his brother's position as Alpha so all should revere him.
