“Do you believe his words?” I asked Violet in a serious tone. She pursed her lips into a thin line and lowered her lashes as if she were in a deep thought. I waited for her to answer me nervously, but I managed to hide my nervousness from all of them.
She slowly raised her lashes again and looked at me calmly. “I guess we can believe his words,” she answered me calmly, and I chewed on my inner cheeks this time. “I don’t know his reasons of helping us, and maybe it’s a trap laid by his helper, but I have my own doubts about Alicia Luther,” she continued and I slowly nodded in response.
