Alison walked down her driveway to her car, feeling extremely happy and gorgeous inside

She stopped to glance at her wristwatch then smiled

She had a meeting with the girls, Tonia and Julie, to shop for a wedding dress, not just anyone one, a magnificent one.

"I don't care about the dress, love" Dennis had said "I know you'd look good in a paper bag"

But she really cared about the dress just as she cared about the wedding

She wanted it to be the most perfect happening in her life....

Alison stopped and looked back

She felt her hair at the back of her neck stand up in fear

Strange

It felt like someone was watching her

"No, I must be going crazy" she muttered as she climbed into her car "just wedding jitters"

She took a quick look round her surroundings and nodded satisfactorily at the quiet, empty neighborhood

She drove down the street, making a mental note of her daily activities

She wondered what she would get for her bridesmaids and immediately began thinking about it when suddenly the car made a grinding sound

Allison was busy thinking about the color theme she was going to use and paid no attention to it

She wondered if they would like pink, or gold or pur....

The car made a grinding sound and jerked

This time she paid attention and stepped on the brake

It didn't work

Uh-oh

"Something's definitely wrong" she thought in fear as she frantically tried to stop the car to no avail

Alison gripped the steering with both hands till her knuckles turned white as she sped down the road

Her purse was on the seat next to her.

If she could just get her phone and reach for help, it would be OK but by this time she was on an highway and she was scared to let go of the steering for even a minute

"Arrrgh!" she screamed as she almost crashed into a truck.

Swerving wildly, her vehicle was thrown off the road into some kind of side road

It was empty and Alison was almost relieved because the car was still going at top speed and she wouldn't be hindered by other cars

Until she saw the "NO TRESPASSING" sign which signaled that the road was cut off

'Oh God, oh God, oh God" Alison muttered feverishly as sweats glistened on her forehead and trickled down her face to mix with the tears running down her face.

She was going to die.

She desperately tried the brakes again all to know avail as the car neared where the road cut off in a deep hole and veered into oblivion.

There was only one thing to do.

Her hands still on the steering she reached over and opened the door, taking care to remove her seatbelt.

The hole was getting closer

She let go of the steering and slowly placed one leg outside

Immediately her entire body followed and Alison found herself thrown several kilometers before rolling to a stop

A minute later, he heard a tremendous crash as her car landed in the bottom of the huge ditch

She tried to stand up but couldn't

She had landed badly with one leg thrown out in an awkward angle

She tried to move her body again but sharp pain moved in her instead and she gasped loudly and fainted

"I'm really sorry, Mr Overton" the doctor repeated again "there really isn't much we can do except that. We've got no time and she's not awake yet"

Dennis ran his hand through his hair which was already sticking up in several places for the millionth time

He looked gaunt and his eyes were dark rimmed

He hasn't had a good sleep or meal since the day he received the call from the paramedic that Alison had had an accident.

"We've to do this Dennis" Mrs kent said "I can't lose my daughter and grandchild at the same time"

"Yes, if we continue to waste time, both the baby and the mother's life would be in danger"

"Fine" Dennis said raspily "do the operation"

His beautiful baby was going to be born prematurely now in order for it to live.

Dennis turned and rammed his fist into the wall behind him as he watched the doctor hurry to carry out his duty.

He looked at the others at the hospital

Tonia, Julie and Mrs Kent were huddled together, praying and comforting

Why on earth did she have an accident now?

Dennis was scared out of his wits when the call came through that Alison's car had been found in a ditch and Alison herself unconscious and bleeding.

"Mr overton?"

He turned sharply and came face to face with the PI (private investigator) he had hired

He quietly ushered the man from the reception room to avoid the family hearing them, and into the cafeteria

"Go on" he ordered

"Well, it's very strange, Mr Overton" the man continued "but I must say it's very likely. Here's the report from the mechanic who inspected your fiancee's car"

Dennis was silent as he read the report

It was just as he suspected

"That car was tampered with, sir" the PI continued "and the person did a very bad job, leaving a lot of tracks"

"Tracks that will lead to his downfall" Dennis said through gritted teeth

Someone wanted to kill his Alison

Deliberately messed with the brakes,with evil intention

But who?

Doesn't matter who, Dennis thought, whomever it was would be served with the same punishment

Twang!, twang!!

Twin slaps landed on josh's face,stigning both sides of his face then numbing them

"She's still alive?!!" Michelle screamed in outrage "she was supposed to be completely annihilated, she and that thing in her stomach, but SHE'S STILL ALIVE?!!"

Josh was still quiet but he was boiling with rage inside

How on earth did he get in this situation?

He knew how

Somehow, Michelle had gotten wind of the slush find had created while working for Overton enterprises and is using it to threaten him

He had no choice but to do as she wants unless he's ruined

He watched as Michelle stormed round the apartment with narrowed eyes

He had underestimated her but he was not a man to be trifled with too

Mitchell stopped pacing and glared at him

Slowly the frown on her face turned to a smile, but malicious anger still glittered in her eyes

"Now dear, why do you make me do this to you?" She asked "I try to overlook your stupidity but it's really not working"

Josh kept quiet

He had been doing that for some time now, just being quiet, not saying a word to the delight of Michelle who wanted someone she could control.

"Now our dear Alison is in the hospital, not dead as we hoped, thanks to you" she continued "now how about we correct your little error and make her dead"

Josh was still silent

Mitchell walked up to him and held his hand affectionately

Suddenly she kicked his balls which made Josh cry out in pain

"Dammit!"

"Good, I'll take that as an answer" Michelle said as she grabbed her purse and jacket "and use someone with brains this time, since you've apparently got none"

With that she walked out leaving josh in agony
