Hannah was persuaded by Cristine to order food with her older brother. Hannah was bewildered as to why she was seated at the same table as everyone else. She would rather not go. She's bemoaning the fact that Clyde is Cristine's older brother among all the students on campus. She thinks fate is a bit of a troublemaker. Fate wants everyone to be miserable.
Hannah didn't display her irritation with her older brother's presence at Cristine. It was humiliating because she had only recently met Cristine. Cristine was a good friend of hers. Apart from her older brother, she is the only person who truly defends her in any situation.
Hannah is unable to abandon Cristine solely due to Cristine's older brother. It was petty and narrow-minded. Hannah was considering how she could work with Clyde. Unlike Clyde, Cristine is kind, despite her proclivity for snarky remarks. Clyde appears to be a gentleman dressed like a beast.
Hannah never imagined she'd be able to approach individuals in school who were well-known. She had not expected it. Those men had been relatively famous in the institution since high school.
Clyde was famous, but they had no idea he had a sister. His fans are also capable, but they have yet to discover this. Hannah was intrigued by Cristine's concealment technique. Clyde's fans were even unaware that Clyde's current family is the second. It was incredible to consider that, given people's current abilities, it is difficult to conceal them.
With the affiliation of these male gods, Hannah was wondering about her future life in college. She may see herself in a bleak future. It's not simple to be friends with them, she shuddered. Her days of serenity appear to be coming to an end.
By the way, if you're wondering why Hannah is so cold to Clyde, it's because of that.
FLASHBACK.
Hannah took a stroll through the mall before deciding to visit the National Bookstore. She looks through the shelves to see if Nicholas Sparks' book has been restocked. This bookstore is always stocked with the most recent releases. Some popular books are always in stock here, but not at other bookstores.
Nicholas' work was a great favorite of Hannah's. She owns all of his works. She was desperate to get her hands on all of the most recent books. When she lifts her head and spots a book, her eyes light up and she swiftly grabs it. However, on the other hand, someone seized it. She cast a glimpse over her shoulder towards the other party. On the other hand, the person on the other side gave a lovely smile. Hannah's eyes narrowed in a guarded way. She believes the guy is taking advantage of the situation with his charms.
His appearance may resemble that of an angel, but his actions are a little wicked. They've reached a deadlock; no one wants to give in. Hannah believed that a man should be a gentleman, but these were only stereotypes. Not every man is a gentleman.
They exchanged stares before the man broke the ice and inquired.
He smiles as he asks, "Miss, can I take this book?" That smile is lethal; anyone could die from it. With his gentleman spectacles, he is handsome, but she must remain strong for Nicholas' sake. Hannah had a vague recollection of the man, but she dismissed it.
Hannah was apprehensive. Debates are not her strong suit. She is easily agitated. She attempts to stop her heart from racing.
"No, no, he's my favorite novelist," she says. " Is it possible for me to have this book? I'd like to read all of his books. Isn't it true that I'm the one who grabs it first?" Hannah's voice has a frail and sorrowful quality to it. He had already yielded if it was someone. But, hey, this guy, don't bother about it.
"Are you insane? Do you have eyes? Can't you see that we're holding the book at the same time? You haven't paid for it yet, it's still not yours," the man admonished severely. Hannah swallowed at the harshness of the man's voice, doubting herself if people today were like this. What if the guy hits her?
Hannah's frantic voice said, "I'll pay for it," as she struggled to free the book from the guy's hold. The guy's expression remained unchanged, and he continued to grasp the book as if his strength meant nothing. Hannah couldn't stop herself from clenching her teeth. Why isn't a woman's strength comparable to a man's? She believed that there was still a lack of equality. Hannah desperately wants to beg, but her pride prevents her from doing so.
"Wait, look! Is that the most famous actor?" said the guy as he pointed behind her. Hannah was duped because she subconsciously looked behind her. When she wasn't looking, the guy snatched the book from her hands and rushed away. It was impossible for her to keep up with his speed.
Hannah didn't give up and instead walked through the entire bookshop, looking for the cashier's area to check if the man was in line to pay. She didn't see the terrible man with the look of an angel. She sighed, listing her misfortunes.
Her eyes were watering as she walked out of the bookstore. Her tears didn't run down her cheeks. Her lips were trembling, and she couldn't tell if it was from rage or sadness. Nicholas was forever gone.
She swallowed her sorrow and walked out of the mall. Her heart ached as she thought of Nicholas, but she couldn't do anything.
END OF FLASHBACK.
Hannah was shocked to learn that the man was Clyde. Hannah's fist was clenched in rage. Clyde was viewed like a burglar who had stolen her priceless books. But she recognizes that she has no control over the situation. The strong devour the weak, and she will always be crushed, even if she does not want to be. When she met Clyde in the bookstore, he appeared to be a little different. He's a genius at disguise.
Clyde accompanied her to the cafeteria to place an order. She is familiar to him, but he is unfamiliar to her. Who hasn't heard of Clyde James Rodriguez, the legendary leader of the King Trios? Their outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements have made them the buzz of the campus. After all, their splendor and wealth are reassuring. They're great guys who are always at the top of everyone's husband's wish list.
Someone shoved Hannah to the back of the line and squeezed themselves. Hannah simply remains silent, preferring not to quarrel with people who wish to skip the queue. Fighting a team with yourself is not a good idea. When you're in the middle of a riot, you're at a disadvantage, and no one will come to your aid.
With Clyde in front of them, the girls who skipped the line were ecstatic. Hannah just stood there silently watching them, not even squeaking. The girl's eyes are ablaze, as if she's about to devour Clyde. With their obsessive gaze, Hannah trembled. She congratulates herself on not being a man. At the very least, there is legislation that protects women.
I simply kept queuing until Clyde had placed his order. Our gazes connected as he peered about as though looking for someone. He dragged me to the counter after approaching me. Hannah's face was flushed with embarrassment. She simply does not want to trouble herself. She can feel the females' eyes on her back, like if they're about to melt her. She simply bears it and gives her order.
Clyde cast a glance behind him.
"Excuse me, Miss! You just came in, aren't you? Can you line up properly? Look at them. They're lined up properly. Then you just walk in and take some spot, isn't that unfair on them?" Clyde scolds the females indiscriminately. With his remarks, he is ruthless. The girls are mocked by the audience, but no one approaches to satisfy Clyde or console the women.
"I'm sorry, Prince Clyde," the girls said, bowing their heads. Their expressions were flushed with embarrassment. Who isn't going to be embarrassed? Your male god is reprimanding you right now. Isn't it humiliating enough already?
Hannah was pleased with Clyde's demeanor. She made the decision to associate with him in the future.
