That Day He Lost Her

CHAPTER 3

We are currently in our personal yacht. We're on our way to Camotes Island to visit our new resort.

And now I'm here, leaning against the yacht's railings, reflecting on what just happened.

Blake's behavior was quite strange. Even when we arrived here, he was extremely sweet and kind to me.

It's a very good thing for me of course. but I just can't help thinking about why?

By the way, speaking of Blake. He's with his mother. He stated that they needed to discuss something.

And Dad had a last-minute work-related task to complete.

That explains why I'm here.

“ Hey” Later, I sensed a presence standing next to me.

“ Are you pretending or something?” I had to ask.

Maybe he is toying me or something.

Come on Blake reveal yourself! We're alone in here.

I squinted my eyes on him.

“ Why would I?” He said with a chuckle. He stopped when he noticed that I’m serious.

“ Blake this is not how you treat me” I said almost a whisper.

“ I’m sorry Ria about how I treated for years” I was astounded by what he said.

I noticed how much regret was visible in his eyes. Or am I just deceiving myself?

"I just realized that, why don't I give it a shot? After all I don't have a choice. Make me fall in love with you Ria.” He reached for my hand and held it.

He looked at me straight in the eyes.

I’m totally speechless. Oh my! Is this a dream?

Ria! This what you have been waiting for! God heard your prayers!

“ Of course, I’ve been waiting for this Blake” I said emotionally and hugged him. He also hugged me back………

I knew it! Today was indeed a special day!

“ okay lovebirds, we’re almost there” Oh my God, how embarrassing!

Dad and Tita Bev are beaming broadly as they look at us. I instantly withdrew from our hug after hearing that. So did Blake, but I overheard him chuckling manfully.

“ It’s so good to see you guys like this right Alex?” Tita Bev exclaimed. It feels like there are hearts in her eyes while watching at us. Dad just chuckled at Tita Bev and looked at me with happiness in his eyes.

“okay, we’re here” Dad announced.

I then saw the refreshing sight of the island I can also smell the salty scent of the sea. I noticed some of the visitor enjoying the view of the resort.

We are now getting ready to get off the yacht. Some of our men are unloading our things.

“ Let’s go?” Dad said and he was about to assist me but-

“ May I Tito Alex?” Blake offered. Dad smiled and then nodded. He looked at us for a while then walked first with Tita Bev.

Blake hold my hand and assisted me. Oh my! Relax Asteria! It feels like my stomach is having a party!

“ You okay?” Blake suddenly asked. He looks worried.

“ yeah, I’m very okay. Let’s go?” I said to change the topic. He just nodded and then we started to go towards the exit of the yacht. While we were walking I can feel his hands around my waist for support. It feels like he is protecting me.

As soon as we get off the yacht I can see a tall familiar man running towards us.

“ Phoebe!” The man shouted, and as he get closer I can now recognize him.

“ Dan! Oh my !” I said in awe. He looks different, I can’t deny it but he looks handsome. He has tanned skin and a clean cut hair. His body is also fit and has muscles on the right places. But compared to Blake. Wait what? Why am I comparing them? Stop it Ria.

I took a step forward towards him and as soon as he reached to where am I, he hugged me. I also hugged him back.

“ I missed you!” He said, I can feel it though. I chuckled at him.

“I missed you too. Look at you, you look so different” I said as we ended our hug. I heard his manly chuckle. I looked at him and noticed his dimple in his check. I always envy that dimple ever since I was a kid.

“ You look different too. You became more beautiful.” He said that me laugh. He is still the same Dani. Even though that his physically changed his bubbly yet shy attitude is still the same. And that habit of his which he always compliments me is still there.

I stopped laughing when I heard someone cleared their throat. Stupid Asteria! How can forget about Blake!

“uh, Dani This is Blake. Blake this is Dani my bestfriend” I introduced

“ Nice too meet you” Dani said in a friendly tone, he also held his hand for a handshake. Blake just looked at it and-

“ Nice to meet you. I’m Ria’s fiancé” He said with a grin, then accepted the Dani’s hand.

I looked at Dani and noticed that now gone smile and replaced by seriousness. What just happened? What is this tension? I looked at Blake and then Dani, and I feel like their having a staring contest while shaking their hand.

I cleared my throat, this is awkward.

"Guys we should go now the event is probably starting" I changed the topic.

"Yeah we should" Blake agreed. He held my waist again.

I noticed Dan staring at Blake's hand that is on my waist.

He looked at me and smiled.

"You have a lot to tell Phoebe. " He winked at me that made me giggle.

The ribbon cutting was held near the shore. I was really happy because of the another success of our business.

There are a lot of media who took photos and interviewed dad. There are also a lot of business men and women here.

"Asteria iha, my son is single. " Tito Carlos said then chuckled.

He's Dani's dad. By the way were seated in six seater round table. I sat beside Blake while dad is on my other side. Tita Bev is beside Blake then Dani and his Dad. We are Enjoying the food while chatting. Like most of the guess did.

Back to Tito carlos.He always paired me with his son.

There's nothing wrong with it. I even enjoyed it because of Dani's reaction.

His eyes widen and almost chocked on his food.

"Dad I heard she's getting engage"

"Oh really but isn't she seventeen Alex ?" He looked at Dad confusingly.

" She's turning eighteen Carlos. And my princess wanted it " dad winked at me.

"You must be her fiance then? " Tito Carlos asked Blake. There is something in his tone that I don't like.

"Yes sir. " Blake answered politely.

" you're studying ?"

"Civil engineering sir. I want to manage our firm"

"Really ? but I heard it's failing.It's that why you're marrying Asteria?"

Tito Carlos chuckled. It feels like an insult.

I looked at Blake and saw how his jaw clenched in annoyance.

"You still haven't change Carlos. Still has the stinky attitude" tita Bev raised her eyebrows to Tito Carlos.

"You should come to their engagement party Carlos" Tita Bev said sarcastically with a big smile on her face.

" Yeah we will Beverly." Tito Carlos voice is serious now.

"Anyway amigo how's the mango plantation ?" Dad said. to change the topic. though I can still feel the tension between Tita Bev and Tito Carlos.

Now there starting to talk about business.

I looked at Blake who's just silently looking at the sea. I noticed he's not In the mood. I can also noticed that he is abit uncomfortable and annoyed.

"Hey want to go near there?" I pointed the sun loungers.

It was nearly sunset and I want to witness it.

"Can we escape from here?" He even raised his eyebrows.

I chuckled.

"You go first then I'll follow" I instructed.

He obeyed though. He said he want to go the comfort room and few moment later I excused myself and started walking to where Blake is.
