Part 1: The Vampire Princess - Chapter 4

1050 Words
“You guys met at a party once.” Ivy knew about this. According to the novel, because of having danced with Henry at a party two hundred years ago, 'Ivy' had a crush on Henry until now. So when he learned that Henry loved Ame, 'Ivy' was furious and wanted to kill her. But now that Ivy was here, she wasn't stupid enough to ask for something that wasn't hers by forcing others. Besides, Henry was not the type of guy she liked. On the contrary, the guy next to him seemed to suit her better. However, Arthur seems to have something very mysterious, and the mysterious things in this novel are best away from her. “I remember, there were rumors that we were a couple back then.” Ivy wasn't shy, she crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair. Henry nodded, but didn't answer her either. The air fell silent. Ivy felt that this meeting was very time-consuming, she decided to cut off: “I have work to do, if nothing else…” Maxwell interrupted her: "Ivy, I told our father, he agreed." Ivy looked at him confused, "Agree to what?" “Agree that Henry will be your fiancé.” Ivy rolled her eyes, immediately protesting, “I disagree.” What she just said startled the three men present. None of them expected Ivy's reaction to be like that. According to the three people's knowledge, Ivy was very fond of Henry, so much so that almost every month she would send a quantity of fresh blood that the royal family kept for Henry. Not only that, Ivy also learned a lot about Henry's hobbies and places to hunt to create 'a chance meeting'. But the current Ivy was acting strangely, not only sadly disagreeing, but also showing a frightened expression. Such expressions made Arthur even more sure of his thoughts. Ivy was definitely not the real princess. Arthur excitedly asked: "What's wrong? I thought the princess admired my grandson." Ivy smiled wryly. "Duke, you have misunderstood, it's just admiration as a friend, not in a romantic way." Henry raised his eyebrows, looking thoughtfully at the beautiful girl in front of him. This beautiful princess once made many boys fall in love when she appeared in a blood-red dress at a party two hundred years ago. That day, coincidentally, Henry was also wearing a red patterned vest. So, when two people stand next to each other, they are like a couple. Then Ivy sent him the finest vials of blood, hunting encounters she used to say were coincidental. Gradually, Henry came to think that Ivy was deeply in love with him, so when this marriage was arranged, he assumed that Ivy would definitely be happy so much that he could fly to the sky. Unexpectedly, her reaction was quite the opposite. Henry pursed his lips, a hoarse voice said: "Do you have someone you like?" Excluding all possibilities, only this one remained. Henry's voice was a little annoyed, it wasn't hard to tell. Arthur smirked at Henry's reaction, looking forward to how Ivy would react. "Oh..." Ivy pretended to think, her eyes drifting to Arthur, not knowing what to think, she playfully winked at him. "... Already have." And how could such an obvious interaction go unnoticed by the other three? Henry and Maxwell looked at Arthur in amazement. Arthur only raised his eyebrows and said nothing. That's like agreeing with Ivy, which means these two have something. The meeting to recognize the fiancé ended. Ivy quickly ran to her room but still couldn't keep up with Arthur's lightning speed. He stopped her in a corner of the wall hidden from the main street, his hands on the wall, forcing her to stand close to the wall. "Princess, what do you mean?" Ivy pretended not to understand, “What do you mean?” Arthur stroked a lock of her hair, the scent of roses drifted into his nostrils, "I know you're not a real princess." "I'm a real princess." Ivy smiled, "That's the way it is." Arthur got closer to her, "Then my princess, tell me why you did that earlier. Maybe I can help you." Ivy's big round eyes blinked, she pretended to think, then looked at Arthur again, then thought again. “Come on, you help me get out of the marriage. In return there will be something I can help you with that is within my power.” Ivy spoke softly, the corners of her lips rising slyly. Arthur stood up straight, did not imprison her anymore, but didn't let her leave. "Oh, but I don't need the princess's help." “No, you will.” Ivy affirmed firmly. Arthur stared at her, deep pupils as if sucking Ivy's soul into it. He stopped smiling, still looking at her instead. At the time when she was joking with Arthur, she was very enthusiastic, but she did not understand now that he was looking at her like that, making her feel a little shaky. But just a moment later, Arthur again curled his lips and said: "Yes, of course." Ivy breathed a sigh of relief, nodding, "That's it, I have work to do now." Arthur released her. Ivy had not left for long, she suddenly heard the sound of Maxwell approaching. Ivy immediately turned around and pulled Arthur's hand to put on her waist, then she put her arm around his shoulder. Her beautiful face suddenly came close, making Arthur unable to react, just let Ivy 'adjust'. "Darling." “Let me ask Ivy if she…” Maxwell talked to Henry while walking to Ivy's room. His voice suddenly stopped because of the unexpected scene in front of him. Of course, with their sensitive hearing, the so-called 'darling' voice clearly reached their ears. Not only Maxwell, even Henry winced at the two of them, but deep inside he didn't know why he was a little angry. After waiting for a long time, but Ivy and Arthur still did not intend to let go, Maxwell and Henry left in silence. Reaching the goal, Ivy let go of Arthur, she laughed: "Tomorrow I will…" Arthur suddenly pulled her closer, his hand on her waist still hadn't let go. He mysteriously smiled: "What's wrong, we're not close yet, darling?"
