PLAYING THE PART
As the days passed, I grew more comfortable with Thane, the werewolf stranger. I looked forward to our conversations, and I began to think of him as a friend.
One day, when the warehouse was quiet and the others had gone for a break, Thane appeared before my cage where I sat with a key in his hand.
"come with me Ivy" he said, his voice low and gentle.
My heart skipped a bit as he opened the cage and led me out. He took me to his room, a cozy space with a large bed and a window that let in a slice of sunlight. We sat down on the bed facing each other, and his eyes locked onto mine.
"I've wanted to tell you something for a long time" he said, his voice filled with emotion.
"from the moment I saw you, I knew there was something special about you. You're innocent, beautiful, and kind. I don't care what Kael did to you, you're still the same person in my eyes".
My eyes fluttered as I met his gaze feeling a connection I couldn't ignore. Thane words touched me deeply, and I saw the sincerity in his eyes.
My eyes widened in shock as I processed Thane's confession. I hadn't expected him to feel this way about me, and I certainly hadn't seen it coming. But as I thought about it, I realized that this could be an opportunity for me. Why not use his feelings to my advantage, I could pretend to reciprocate his interest, and maybe, just maybe, I could find a way to escape from this place.
With a calculated smile, I nodded, and Thane's face lit with joy, "yes" I said, my voice barely a whisper "I'd like that".
As the relationship began, I played the part of the enomored captive, all the while plotting my escape. I know it wouldn't be easy, but with Thane's affection on my side, I might just have a chance to break free.
Our meetings became a highlight of my day, and I found myself looking forward to the moments we would steal together, as the next heir he had so much work to do.
Thane oblivious to my true intentions, showered me with attention and affection, and I used this to my advantage, slowly building trust and gaining his confidence. Little did he know I was just biding my time, waiting for the perfect opportunity to escape.
