Chapter One - A Shitty Birthday
Many things about Hanna Raying were different. To begin with, today, out of all days, was her eighteenth birthday, but she would be spending it like a normal day, alone. Her parents had died six months ago in a car accident, leaving her the only person left in her family. What noone thought to tell her is what would happen when she turned eighteen if she didn't already know. There was so much her parents didn't tell her that they should have before they passed away.
As Hanna packed her bag for the day, she could feel something different coming on. She grabbed a mug from the counter and filled it with coffee and creamer. Taking a deep breath, she took a sip of her coffee, threw her bag over her shoulder, and walked out the door. She was different than others, as she sat down on the bus, in the back like always, alone like always, she looked up and was hit in the forehead with a piece of paper. It plopped down on her lap, and she picked it up and uncrumbled it to see the same words that are always there when these kids bullied or talked to her, "Freak." To her, they were almost right. Weird things tended to happen when she was around, things she could never understand.
They reached the school after the chaotic bus ride, and the kids rushed off the bus as always, where Hanna was in the back, waiting for everyone to shuffle their way down the aisle and off the bus. As she reached the front, she said 'Thank You' like she always does to the driver, and she always nodded at her in recognition. Getting off the bus, she strutted her way to her locker with her head held high. She hated the world, nonetheless, but she wasn't going to let everyone else know that. Reaching her locker and opening it up, she was met with bucket after bucket of milk, like liquids, and before she could think, she dropped her bag and went to cover herself, but the milk parted ways, never touching her. Everyone in the hall was witnessing it, even one kid looked up and said, "Look, the freak did it again!" and everyone began to laugh. She started to get upset as she turned and looked at them, and every single locket opened up, then she picked up her bag and ran toward the door and out to the curb. She ran toward the woods, ran into the brush, and didn't stop until she was out of breath.
She sat down on the mossy-like cover on the forest floor and dropped her bag with her without a word. She began to cry. She looked down at the moss and flowers blooming around it, "Why does this keep happening..." she whispered. Suddenly, growling started from behind her, and she turned around frantically. Three wolves were standing in front of her. The head of the three was all black, the other two were both mixed, coated with gray and black, and they all had gold eyes. They looked at each other and then back at Hanna. The trees started to grow rapidly, and the more scared she got. Suddenly, a deep voice came from the head of the three, "She is definitely the one. Some say Witch. I sense no Wolf, though. Alpha said the next to come would be Alpha, and she is the first one here since." One of the grey ones snarls, "A Witch! Be an Alpha. Not Possible. We can't be led by a puny little girl with parler tricks." The other one speaks with a calming voice, "We have no right to judge what he asked. Take her and let's go."
Hanna snapped instinctively, "Don't you touch me!" Then the flowers slowly started to die, and her eyes slowly glowed an emerald glow, and before she could do anything, she fainted from the massive amount of energy she was taking in and had no way to get rid of it.
Hanna wouldn't wake up for hours. By the time she did, she had already been taken to the Raying pack house, where she would learn more about her name than she ever had.
