“Sit down” I said, rubbing my eyes and then sanitising them. Nico sat down on the chair in front of me with his head lowered in shame. I dipped the gauze into the solution and tilted his head back up. Michele was sound asleep next to us on the dining room table. Hissing at the pain, I dabbed lightly onto the cuts on his face. “Don’t be such a baby” I joked but his mouth hardly curved.  “I’m sorry” he finally said. “For what?” “I’m his big brother, I should have protected him better” he confessed. I rolled my eyes and slumped my shoulders. “Don’t think like that. That’s how Michele became the way he was because of the guilt for your mother” I reminded him.
