Chapter One
Chapter 1
It seems like just yesterday I was a small child, a nobody, now I’m marrying an alpha; an alpha of the biggest, strongest pack in the continental US. Who would’ve ever thought that me, a simple rogue, would be married? But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s go back to the beginning of the story.
Two years ago
“Samantha! Get in here now!” yelled the alpha.
“Yes, Alpha Derek?” I asked as I walked into his office, bowing down to show my respect even though he, nor any of his pack, showed any type of emotion towards me, unless it was hatred or disgust.
“Why have you disobeyed me ONCE AGAIN?!” he yelled. “I have never despised someone as much as I do you. You have yet again been two minutes late on bringing me my lunch. I will not tolerate this disrespect any longer! Luna Ilenne and I have fed you, clothed you, and given you somewhere to sleep once we found you. It still seems you can’t help but push my buttons. The Luna was right, I should’ve just left you there to starve in your filth. Guard, take her to the dungeon!”
I didn’t even get a chance to apologize before the guard snatched me by my arm, pulling me so fast I couldn’t catch my footing. I began to question the Moon Goddess: “Why me? What have I done so wrong to be treated like this?!” But like always there was no answer. Of course she wouldn’t answer me. I was considered a rogue after my family died. No pack wanted me, not even my own.
I was so lost in my own thoughts I didn’t even realize that we had made it to the dungeon. I look at the guard pleading for him to let me go with my eyes. He didn’t care though. He pushed me into the cell with a scoff and gave me a creepy look that made my skin crawl. “I can’t wait for tonight. I’ll finally get to treat you like the w***e you are and make you scream my name.”
I cringed and crawled as fast as I could backwards until my back hit the wall. He barked out a laughter, and told me that he hoped I’d put up a fight.
A few hours later I was in the corner of my cell, with my legs to my chest and my arms wrapped around them. I heard a whisper. It sounded like my best friend Lillian, but why would she be here? She could get punished if she’s caught down here!
“Pssst Sam are you down here?!” She whisper yelled.
“I’m down here!!!” I whispered back. She finally made it to my cell, running while crouched down. “Why are you down here?!” I asked, “you could get beaten or worse if they catch you!”
“I wanted to make sure you had some water and food so you wouldn’t starve. They wouldn’t let you eat supper last night or breakfast this morning. There’s no telling how long you’ll go with out food down here so I bought you a few things. I know it’s not much, but it’s what I could sneak into my uniform with out it going noticed.” Lillian said.
This is the kind of girl Lillian is. She’s 18, just a year older than me. I’ve never met anyone as kind and generous as she is. She’s literally the only person I can turn to with out being judged, or being told I’m disgusting. I’m 5’3 with long black hair that looks blue in the sun. I’ve got natural tan skin and “legs for days” as Lillian says. I’m not the best looking, but guys tend to look at me, but that could be because of my size. I have natural DDs, a round perky behind, and full lips. My eyes are green and the color will change when I’m angry. I’m what Lillian calls a “thick” girl, whatever that means. I’ve never been one to flaunt my body. I hate how some of the clothes I’m given are tighter than what I would like to wear. Not to mention how the other guys and girls laugh or joke about my size when wearing them. I’m very self-conscious when it comes to my size and looks.
“You’re amazing Lil. This is more than enough. What would I do with out you?” I said. It was a rhetorical question, but Lillian, as always, had something to say back.
“Probably starve!” She giggled quietly.
We heard keys jingling as foot steps approached. “Lil run!” I said, panic invading my voice. Lillian hurriedly got into a hiding spot where no one would see her, not even with wolf vision.
I heard the foot steps continue until they stopped in front of my cell doors. I looked up threw my lashes and took in a deep breath expecting to get punished worse than normal. The guard from earlier told me to get up that the alpha needed me. I scrambled up from the floor, trying not to look at Lillian’s spot.
The guard grabbed me and dragged me back to the alpha’s office mumbling something about not getting his turn. When we entered there was a man sitting in the corner on the guest chair. My breath instantly caught in my throat and all I could do was stare. He had the most handsome face I’d ever seen. His jaw was chiseled so hard it looked like he could cut threw a rock. He had high cheekbones and a nose that had a slight arch in it showing it had been broken before. His hair was a dark brown and was a little longer on the top to where he could comb it back and the sides were shorter. He was a tall man. I’d guess 6’5 or taller. He was built like a god. I’m talking muscles for days, big hands, and I don’t even think I can imagine what’s under those clothes. His eyes were such a light blue that it looked almost white.
Alpha Derek snaps me out of my thoughts “Samantha! Where are your manners?! This is Alpha Jenson of the Moon Crest Pack! You WILL show respect!” He yells.
“Yes alpha!” I bowed my head. “Is there anything else sir?”
“Yes. Take Alpha Jenson to the guest room. Organize his things and be sure to help him with anything he needs. You are now his personal maid. Am I understood Samantha?”
“Yes alpha. I apologize for my zoning out. Please forgive me.” I said.
He grunted and told me to leave.
