Banished.

Dawn Daniels Pouting, complaining, and thinking about what Dean had said, I walked as fast as I could to the Alphas office, grateful that I didn’t meet anyone on the way. Immediately after I got to the office, I was directed in by the receptionist. Getting in, I was surprised to see the Packs beta, Ron Drew, and the head of werewolf training, Von Clark, standing on both sides of the alpha's desk while the Alpha was seated behind his desk. “ You kept me waiting.” “ Good morning Alpha Wade.” Alpha Simon Wade is a very scary man, with the strongest, meanest aura I have ever felt. I really dislike him, he was the biggest bully in the pack going around using his place as Alpha to exert power over everyone he could. “I’m sorry, I was told about meeting you just a few minutes ago.” “I do not believe you, but please have a seat.” He said, waving his hand towards the chair. Of course, you won’t believe me, I thought, mentally rolling my eyes. Please have a seat? What was happening? I thought as I carefully sat on the chair facing the alpha. I briefly looked up at the Beta and the head warrior, who were purposely avoiding any eye contact. None of their faces gave off any information. “Miss Dawn Daniels, today would mark your 18th year as an unmarked member of our pack.” My heart fell the moment I heard the beginning of his speech. “and you have been nothing but a burden and a stain on the pack, a weakling who could not even be marked. We kept you this long due to an appeal from a few werewolves who felt you should be given time. 18 years is time enough and since we cannot see any change,” he stood up and continued talking, looking down on me. “I, Alpha Simon Wade, banish you, Dawn Daniels, from White moon pack due to your lack of authenticity as a werewolf in the presence of witnesses, Beta Ronald Drew and Head warrior Von Clark. You have the rest of the day to say your goodbyes and take all your belongings as you will not be allowed to step foot into this pack again after you leave. Any questions?” I sat there, frozen and in tears, then I remembered that Dean had said I wasn’t going to be a pack problem anymore. That was when I began to feel the pain, fear, and anger beginning to swallow me. Any questions? What have I done to deserve such treatment? “ Where should I go to?” I asked in between quiet uncontrollable tears, not sure to who exactly I was directing my question. “I believe we are done here.” ignoring my question, Alpha Wade left his office with Beta Drew walking right after him. I was left in the office with tears, I had to leave the pack and I had nowhere to go. Sighing, I got up and cleared any signs of tears. I was not going to let them see my tears anymore. Being here had been hell, so maybe it was time for a new start outside the pack. Hopefully, I won't die, alone and without a wolf in the wild. I left the office and started walking fast to my cabin. On the way, I noticed dark smoke coming from the direction of my home. I started to feel dread as I ran towards my place praying to the moon goddess that my house was not on fire. The closer I got, the more the smoke till my house came into full view. It was on fire. I stood there, hands on my head, tears falling, too shocked to do or say a thing. They did this. There is no way my place could have just caught fire. As if to confirm my suspicions, I noticed movement from the side of my eyes. I turn and see Dean smirking in the trees. “I might have helped if you were a member of this pack, Dark. But the word around is that you’ve been banished. Is that true?” Dean said, laughing. I had not noticed him when I was running, but seeing him, I knew he was behind the fire. Still too shocked to do anything and in tears, I ignored him and started running to the graveyard. That was the only place I could clear my head. The one thing I needed more than anything was a clear mind, especially since my already broken life was crashing down on me. Almost at the graveyard entrance, I stopped running once I was close enough and I could see Darrius weeding at the entrance. Holding on to my backpack, I slowly walked towards the entrance, then I felt the wind get knocked out of me as a weight pushed me to the dusty ground. What. The. f**k? “ Where do you think you’re going to?” Dean sneered. He was on me, using one hand to yank my free arm behind as he used his other hand to take off my backpack and then proceeded to use his weight to hold me down, still yanking my arm with enough force to break it. “Haven’t you done enough? get off me, dumb asshole!” angry and in tears, I began wriggling under him with all my might trying to free myself, then I heard Darius speak. “Didn’t you hear what she said? Get off her, you coward.” Immediately I felt Dean's weight being lifted off me. I jumped up, dusting sand off my sweater and my face. Looking up, I was so happy when I saw how Darius held Dean up by his shirt and how scared Dean looked. I noticed my backpack on the ground, so I picked up my bag and then stuck my tongue out at Dean. I don’t know how I would have survived staying here without Darius. “Are you okay?” Darius asked, looking concerned. “Yes, I am, thank you” I mumbled quietly, but loud enough that Darius heard. “ Go ahead Dawn, I’m right behind you” Darius waited till I had limped- thanks to Dean's push, my knee was sore- into the graveyard. Only then did he drop Dean, turned and walked back to the graveyard, and sat on a bench. “I’ll make sure the alpha hears about this.” A flustered Dean said the moment he got up, running off. Spoilt brat. “ Thank you so much, I have no idea what he would have done to me, especially since I’ve been banished,” I said the moment he walked into the graveyard. “ Banished?” he said with a bewildered look on his face as he sat down on a bench beside me. “ Yes.” Sighing, I explained my ordeal to him. “Dawn, I’m so sorry.” “Thank you, Darius, and now after seeing what they did to my cabin, I am feeling so unsafe so I just came here to say goodbye and to see my mum's grave one last time. I have nothing, just my backpack. I’ll need to leave as soon as I can.” I turned around to look at my mother's grave and immediately burst out crying. Everything just felt like too much for me. “Am I a coward? Should I have tried running away? I really hoped things would change this year after my birthday. I mean it did, but for the worst.” “Do you know why I decided to train you?” He asked, patting my back and handing me a handkerchief. “because you trained my mom?” I said, sniffling and using the handkerchief to clean my tears. “not really,” he said, chuckling. “I trained you because I see something the other werewolves are choosing to ignore and that is something they will face when the time comes. I know this and your mother also knew this. I know the moon goddess will look after you. Your mother gave me something to give you on the day you turn 18. I was going to give you it later in the day with my gift, but I believe the right time is now.” “Really?” getting gifts from my mum and Darrius had me feeling a lot better. “Yes, really.” He got up from the bench and went into his cabin. I was so excited about whatever it was. He came out after a few minutes with a brown satchel bag which he handed over to me. The satchel contained a journal and a number of two keys. I opened the journal and saw the handwriting. It was my mother's. “ The keys are for the truck in the store. I haven’t driven it in a while. It’s just there gathering dust and since you can drive, you should have it. It will definitely make your journey shorter and easier.” Standing up, I gave Darrius the tightest hug ever. “ Thank you so much Darrius, I don’t know how I would have gotten through all this without you.” “You’re welcome, Dawn. I would like to go with you, but by this gate is where my duty is” he said, hugging me back. I was going to miss him a lot. He then showed me the directions to a pack that would take me on my google maps. All I needed to do when I got there was give them proof that I would be useful to the pack. “but what pack would take a lone wolf?” I wondered as I looked at the screen of my phone. “A rogue pack will,” he said. “Rogue?!” I almost squeaked. “ There’s a rogue pack that I know of. Our Alpha and theirs don’t see eye to eye, so even though their alpha trusts my judgment, you will have to convince him that you are not a spy. I have trained you and I know how capable you are. Just remember all I’ve taught you. Trust your instincts, trust your inner wolf, Silver. She always has your back. Okay?” “Okay”
