Lucy and the Guardians
Lucy was sitting on a white hard chair inside an all-white room. She was observing her graceful and gorgeous white Queen gaze nervously at her. Quin the white queen was the only human Lucy had ever seen in her entire fourteen years of life yet she could say that she is the most beautiful woman in the entire universe. Quin told her today, she will be introduced to the King and the whole White Kingdom. “But first and foremost you need to pass the Guardians assessment!” Quin said exuberantly like Lucy is about to meet really wonderful friends. “Assessment?” Lucy asked. “Easy, you only have to prove them that you're not dangerous.” Quin smiled at Lucy. Her expression was a reassurance that she was anything but dangerous. "But I'm dangerous," Lucy murmured and thought of the day when she was brought into this world. When she came out of her placental capsule fourteen years ago she was immediately imprisoned in a white asylum, the space she could imagine as vertically infinite and horizontally narrow. As young as she is, she understands why she has to be isolated inside that horrible room. She is too strong and her potential for massive destruction is uncertain but possibly high. When she was developing inside her capsule she could hear the scientists’ discussion about her, about them. Nobody knows that she knew the secret behind her unfathomable strength. She had heard everything. They made a human weapon out of her, experimented on her. She was not alone but she was the only one that survived. She could feel the other heartbeats stop one by one with every poison, chemicals, medicines they insert on their tubes. She is fully aware that her heartbeat could be one of them. She also knows that inside her was the most lethal bomb predisposed to explode once the Mighty King demands it. “Indeed, nobody would believe you to be harmless but wait till they know you and they will know how kind you are,” the wonderful queen said. People train to be stronger but Lucy was trained to learn how to suppress her strength. This is the drawback of creating a human weapon, to tame her and teach her to manipulate her ability. Quin was the strongest Guardian who can do it. For the past five years Quin took good care of her and taught her everything she knows about being a human. Lucy was intelligent to learn fast. "Lucy had been waiting all along," Quin thought. The thought of their first meeting made Quin laugh. Lucy did nothing but mirrored her movements. She had never imagined herself doing awkward moves just to watch Lucy make funny positions. Lucy had turned hundreds of rocks to dust before perfecting to hold a rock with closed hand. “Maybe if you could let me touch you they might believe I'm completely harmless,” Lucy challenged. “That's never happening,” Quin dismissed. A lot of time Lucy had asked to touch her and she always refused. Lucy might look nice and all good but a part of her doesn't want to trust the little innocent looking monster. She is very playful and naughty inside Quin thought. “It's happening now,” Quin heard Lucy whispered. In a split of second the little girl sitting by the chair opposite her direction was now standing adjacent to her. Quin turned to face Lucy's smiling face. Lucy slowly raised her pointing finger and motioned to touch Quin. Quin's reflexes moved her backwards so fast, avoiding Lucy's finger. The smiling Lucy was ignited and attacked Quin with a shotgun like strength of quick punches and kicks. Quin cursed and went ballistic. Her then perfectly composed self was now a picture of a perfect mess. This is what she hated about Lucy. Body contacts made her excited. The moment she had learned to handle a thing without destroying it made her euphoric. Lucy enjoys fighting with Quin. Quin on the other hand loath it, it destroys her demureness inside and out. The two quarreled like little violent cats. Storming and tearing down the peaceful white room. On the other side of the door were the impatient Guardians tasked to assess the little girl. Elise Bishop was standing by the window looking outside at her sleeping brother on the shade of the white Palm tree. Their conversation earlier lingered on her thoughts. “So the King has decided to show the poor girl?” Dylan Bishop hissed after reading the Kings command on the holographic screen in front of his face, he turned it off with his mind. She had known her brother to be so righteous but to call her "poor girl" sounds unacceptable. She was a monster in a girl's skin. She was only made extremely strong to survive her mission on traversing and destroying the Black Kingdom. If she fails, she will detonate destroying everything but the White Kingdom. That's the last option, the King wouldn't want to destroy everything because he plans on ruling everything. As if His Guardians are not enough He has to sacrifice many lives to create an instrument He would need to achieve His plans. Elise hates Lucy that's all about it. “It’s high time we send her to the wilderness, we can't contain a monster inside our gates. It would be the greatest irony to create a weapon intended to destroy the enemy Kingdom and that weapon turned out to be too strong, too strong to destroy the creator Kingdom even before it reaches the enemy Kingdom?” “Interesting irony,” Dylan muttered not fully considering the idea. “Disgusting,” Elise replied in full objection. “Quin had been teaching and training her for the past five years. If you can't trust the girl, trust the Queen,” Dylan said. “The Queen will show up with it in a couple of minutes. We should go.” “Isn't the sky too beautiful to be overlooked?” He said dreamily. Elise left him staring at the sky full of clocks and its clockworks. The clocks didn't quite make a lot of horrible ticks today. A white crow flew near Elise stopping by her shoulders and cutting her train of thought. Elise drives the crow away with marked annoyance. “Don't touch me with your filthy claws!” Rak the white cunning and annoying crow pretend not to be fazed and slowly peeked on the window disregarding her sour mood. “What a lazy boy your brother, always looking at the clock but not paying attention of the time, ” Rak insulted her brother bluntly in her face. “He'd rather be lazy than scabby,” she said in an attempt to return an unpleasant favor. “Blah blah blah,” Rak said rolling its ivory eyes. “Why is the Queen taking too long?” Rak asked changing the topic. “What is taking her long?” she returned the question. One white door opened and it allowed a masked Knight inside catching the attention of the only two beings in that room. The Knight walked inside the white room stopping on the corner, the two only followed him with their gaze. He leaned on the wall not saying anything. “What brought you here?” Rak asked the masked Knight named Robin. Obviously they did not expect Robin's presence in this small event because he never appeared in anything but the War. “Curiosity,” he answered. “The girl threatens him,” Elise commented. Robin ignored her. The noise inside the door containing the Queen and the little monster broke the tension of the other room. They heard Quin's screams and the girl's wicked laughter. It made them nervous. A series of wall smashing happened making the anxious Elise kick their door and sending it flying. She saw the surprised little monster on the Queens back grabbing the latter's neck. In a flash Elise rescued Quin, seizing and locking tiny Lucy on the floor. Lucy had never met any human beside Quin, she was left motionless at the sight of the woman on top of her. In her eyes the woman looks like the fiercer version of Quin. Her eyes were blank gray, her face firm with hard expression, long straight silver hair. Quin's hair was always tied upwards she never appreciated her silver hair. What she did next surprised Elise. Lucy stroked her hair so gently. Elise slapped her hand out of her hair. Quin has gained her composure and was beautiful again. Displeased by Elise's behavior she immediately seized her carrying her out of the room like a violent little kid leaving the confused Lucy following. Lucy had entered yet another white room. She discovered a white crow and a man. Lucy gave the man a quizzical look. She found him strange not because he wore a faceless and boring mask but because he is the first man she had ever seen and she couldn't just allow him to cover his face like that. She decided on taking it off by force and moved to commence her plan. Quin, sensing Lucy's plan, didn't do anything to stop her. Quin herself wanted to know the face behind Robin's mask. She was so excited. Lucy was near him when she heard the bird talk. She turned to its direction trying to confirm her sanity. “Dang!” Quin hissed gaving Rak a sharp look. “Did I just heard you talk?” Lucy asked the bird and she mindlessly walked towards it. She moved to touch it and heard it saying, “Don't touch me!” with obvious aversion. Lucy laughed, “the bird is talking! the bird is talking!” Quin calmed her and made everybody sit. Only Lucy obliged. Quin introduced the three to the excited Lucy. After the introduction Lucy asked Rak how did it learn to talk. Rak didn't answer her queries and insulted her instead. Lucy decided to grab the bird and throw it outside the window. Quin shook her head and asked Lucy for explanations on her bad behavior. “I think the bird is malfunctioning inside this room so I freed it. It's time Rak discovers the forest and find itself and be one with itself” Lucy explained. “What do you even know about being one with oneself naive girl?” Rak said returning to the other open window. “You're back?” Lucy said surprised. Rak rolled its ivory eyes and ignored her. Rak told Quin it's about time they start the assessment. Quin explained the details of the assessment but Lucy wasn't listening as her attention was on the man outside looking at her. The man resembles Elise in every way. He wore the same long coat Elise wore and has the same eyes and long silver hair. Only his expression was soft and he was a man. The man smiled and she returned it with a wave. The bird started attacking her. “Woow! why are you attacking me?” Lucy asked while dodging the sharp wind Rak sent on her. Elise don't like Rak's dirty tricks but she took the opportunity to cast her invisible sharp strings on Lucy. Lucy did not have any idea of what is Elise capable of doing but her senses made her lithe body snapped backwards. Rak and Elise attacked her simultaneously as she continuously turned somersaults and jumped gracefully avoiding the assault. Lucy's enjoying this. The fighting went on until the two attackers were tired.... and that's how the assessment ended. It made Lucy yawn insulting the two. Everyone heard a sound of clapping making their heads turn to its direction. Lucy recognize the man smiling at him a while back. He was now sitting coolly on the window seat. Lucy smiled at him and said, “I think they're hungry.” It made the man laugh. “No they're not hungry, they're just no match for you,” the man replied. Elise's and Rak's faces hardened. They were annoyed at the seeming fondness of the two. Lucy introduced herself for the first time to the cool stranger. The man introduced himself as Dylan. The other man on the corner which existence she had almost forgotten moved to open the door. She wanted to stop him but he already left and left the door closed just like that. Later on Quin told her his name and attempted to explain his strange behavior though she failed, Quin don't understand him as well, nobody in that room understands him actually. All they know is when he came back after being sent off the gates, he changed just like that and started wearing a mask. Robin won't tell what happened. It made Lucy curious. After everything, Quin decided to show Lucy to the King. “But what about the assessment?” Lucy asked clueless. Elise's stone face could not harden any more. Dylan made a chuckle. Rak's plan on provoking the girl's strength run out of control failed and it was so displeased about it. The reason that they're combined force weren't enough to unleash even half of her strength irked the conceited bird. “Don't worry about it, now! let's prepare you for the show,” Quin said and turned to Dylan. “Dylan here will help you,” she added. Dylan pulled her out of the room, leading her to another white room, this room was different that it contains a lot of stuffs and garments and accessories and mannequins. Dylan looked at her from head to toe. Her white long collared shirt, white pants intentionally cut below the knee and bare feet obviously isn't a good look for a debut. One by one, he collected every single piece at the crazy collection. He undressed the confused Lucy and dressed her with a beaded and laced tight upper garment and thickly layered chiffon skirt reaching her knees. He accessorized her neck with a crystal choker and her tiny feet with big looking chunky boots. In a graceful swift he cut her extremely long hair so short and gave her a square bangs. “Done!” he finally said. Lucy looked at herself in the mirror, she turned around and her eyes caught the sight of a magician hat displayed alone in one corner of the room. “I want that!” she pointed. “oh no! that's not for you to have Lucy” Dylan said. Lucy was stubborn and get it anyway. She posed with it in the mirror looking so satisfied with herself. “Lucy, it's not right to own something that doesn't belong to you,” he said with full forced patience. “It's mine now” she said. The calm Dylan lost his patience and screamed “that's mine!” and it stunned Lucy. She immediately and carefully returned the hat. “Sorry” she apologized quickly. Dylan calmed himself and was now calm again he smiled and give her a cute Fedora hat instead. “There! that fits you better.” Lucy still secretly want to steal the white magician hat though. “Why did the hat made you mad?” asked Lucy. “It did not, you did make me mad,” he answered. “Do you love it that much?” she asked. “Yes of course. Now you're ready! let's go and meet the King,” he said changing the topic. He is supposed to lead her to the elevator but since he had a habit of jumping through the windows he jumps past through the nearest window. Lucy watched him flew and his face fell perfectly on the ground, “i***t” she muttered. Lucy followed and graced the land with a smooth landing. He led her to the White castle where the King is thought to reside. They hopped together and stopped on the feet of a high and mighty tower of spirals. The tower constitutes three helixes that keeps on moving and spiraling. Lucy can't believe her eyes. “Are we going inside that?” she asked. “You are going inside, I'll wait outside,” Dylan answered. “Okay” she whispered. “So how do I get in?” she asked. “Anyway you want,” he answered and continued, “once you are inside you don't need to find the King. He will find a way to lead you to him.” “Is that it?” asked Lucy. “I think that’s it,” Dylan smiled. Lucy then jumped so high to a window inside one of the spiraling helix. She heard Dylan screaming “Remember, all you have to do is meet the King!” “How impatient, going directly for the jump,” Dylan thought. She was welcomed by a white dancing room that made her sight a little bit fuzzy. She escaped the moving room to find out even the hallway is moving, she run anyway. She found a moving spiraling stairs that made her dizzy. The moving stairs rotated upside-down making her scream as it drops her to a slide of whirling and spinning experience. The slide went up and down she can't already understand her world. The slide dropped her to a room full of winged creatures, the shape she can't quite understand, is it her dizzy head playing on her or their shapes just keep on changing? They're all different and amorphous and fluffy looking. All of their heads turned to her direction. We'll it looks like they are all heads, strange heads. She saw the bewilderment in their eyes, they're all sparkling. All of them surrounded her and she heard one muttered, “Isn't she the girl?” one said. “how long has it been?” another one asked, “does this mean she's not destructive anymore?” “Hello you must be Lucy! If you're wondering, you are inside the King's Castle now. This place is called the Axis. We are the Queubic. We are tasked here to help you fulfill your fate,” one of them who wears a monocle greeted her. “eh? what exactly is fate?” Lucy asked. “I can't tell you, all I can tell you is it is quite twisted” the Qeuebic replied. Lucy smiled “how twisted?” she asked. “Twisted as truths and lies mixed together,” he replied. Lucy didn't quite get that. She remembered the reason she was sent there. “The King can wait, it wouldn't hurt to play with them for a while,” Lucy thought. Meanwhile Quin found Dylan sleeping on the ground. Without thinking twice, she kicked him right in his head. Poor Dylan woke up scratching his head. The angry Quin raised her voice. “What are you still doing here sleeping on the ground! DID YOU LEFT LUCY BY HERSELF!!!!” Her yelling stunned him more than her kicking. “Hey hey easy, she'll be fine,” he said nervously, half-laughing. “It's not her, it's those damn nasty Qeuebics! She'll kill them!” She said madly. “Oow! what's the problem with that?” “You i***t!” “I'm just kidding” he chuckled, “those annoying Qeuebics know better,” he added in a serious tone. “Are you too afraid of them now? I never thought your spine can go that far.” “I just don't want to be bothered now.” Quin sighed. “I'll go then,” she said and turned her holographic screen on. A picture of her appeared and she clicked the whole image. She sent it to the system of the spiraling structure. The system scanned her face. The image of her, radiated unto the bottom of the spiral tower and unlocked a passageway. Dylan smiled and followed. Quin discovered that Dylan followed. Dylan might have sensed that something interesting is going to happen. They run through the wobbling place and searched the Qeuebics room. The two discovered every tiny Qeuebics lying dead on the wobbly floor. But a more dreadful sight caught their attention. The only living one rising above the dead pile. Lucy! The two can sense how dark and mad her aura is. If they were to picture hell, it would be her form now. This is more than what Dylan has expected. A while ago she was just playful. He underestimated her. She was never to be estimated in the first place. Now he realized his death. If he can escape it now, he would still have to face the Kings punishment. Quin, the only thing that she feels now is pity. If she had only known Dylan would do this, she should've saved her. It's too early for her to meet them. These terrible creatures.
