My stomach dropped as I spun around. Malvolio had entered through one of the tunnels opposite where we’d come in.
“I’m not your love!” I snapped.
Daniel stepped forward. “What are you doing here?”
“I could ask you the same thing.” He turned to Sharwok. “I’d stop fiddling around with that device if I were you.”
I glanced at Sharwok, who went straight back to work. He sniffed. “Who are you to be telling me what to do?”
Malvolio straightened his shoulders. “I’m The Company.”
I thought I must’ve been hearing things. “What?”
“Listen very carefully,” he said slowly, as if I had a diminished mental capacity. “I. Am. The. f*****g. Company. It’s me. I own it. I’m not just the managing director in charge of Galaxy Mech, I am the owner of Katoa Intergalactic Mining and Exploration.
