Chapter 47
I rushed forward, pushing what little energy I could muster at Malvolio as pain tore into the right side of my chest, but the blast had missed me. I turned to see the laser pistol blast a long line that started at Daniel’s chest and went up the wall and onto the roof of the cavern before Malvolio released the trigger.
“Daniel!” I screamed.
I gasped as dirt and rocks from the ceiling showered down on us all. There were shouts and cries of pain from everyone as they scrambled toward the tunnel entrance.
I was knocked to my knees as something hit me on the head and it added to the agony of Daniel’s injuries.
“Daniel!”
I dropped to my knees and started to crawl back to where he was sitting, but my mind was hazy. Then there was a loud crack and the whole ceiling came down.
