After we’d done the five laps and the warm-ups, Sarinda ran through everyone’s names, which I forgot instantly. I couldn’t concentrate on anything. I was still reeling. We weren’t getting out of here for a long time.
Sarinda went to work with the other trainees and Xander stayed to get us started on the basics.
He went into some explanations of how to make a fist and punch correctly because I had no clue. I listened and tried to keep up, but the whole time I was thinking I didn’t want to be here and didn’t want to learn how to fight.
I complained to Daniel through telepathy and he understood.
That got my attention. Maybe learning to defend myself against Malvolio would be worth it. I couldn’t get away from him in here and he could turn violent again without warning.
