Chapter 28 Three days into our combat training, I was feeling totally exhausted and wasn’t getting any better at it. I was still determined to learn, but had to face the fact that I wasn’t a fighter. So that meant I’d have to try harder to get it right. Xander had pushed me harder and the hits I’d taken when I’d failed to block his punches and kicks had hurt more than I’d let on.
