Back in the training room, my nerves were on edge again. What if I wasn’t quick enough to block the shots?
Daniel squeezed my hand.
I wished I shared his confidence.
Sarinda stepped forward.
“You will be issued special clothing like ours.” She waved a hand at herself and Xander. “They are made from a fire-retardant material and they actively dampen electrical currents.”
That would be handy.
Xander rubbed his hands together, which was starting to grate on me, and said, “Let’s get rolling. Lennina is with me and Daniel with Sarinda.”
“Not this time,” Sarinda said. “I want to see how Lennina is progressing.”
Xander looked pissed, but he didn’t say anything.
Sarinda took me to the other side of the training room where she’d been training Daniel and I tried to prepare myself.
