Later that day, Dr Rowen actually came through and let me call home.
Adamo answered; Mum wasn’t home. I was so glad to see him and wanted to tell him everything, but Dr Rowen had told me I couldn’t give anyone details regarding an ongoing investigation.
“So.” How did I even explain? “There’s been a couple of changes since I last spoke to you and Mum.”
He frowned. “You’re not going out with that jerk again, are you? ’Cause if you are, I’m gonna kick your arse!”
