Hunter ~~
I was on a call when the door opened. I stayed where I was, leaning against my desk, and didn’t bother ending the call. I just watched her walk in and close the door quietly behind her.
She looked pale, like she had seen something she couldn’t forget.
“Nine on the dot. He must not be a second late.” I ended the call and tossed the phone onto the desk.
She stood there, watching me with eyes that weren't quite sure what they wanted.
"Sister-in-law," I said, brows furrowed. I wasn't surprised to see her because I knew would come eventually.
Then she walked closer... close enough that I could smell her. That same scent from the car; fear, mixed with something sweeter underneath.
"I want to," she said.
I raised a brow. "Want to what?"
