Prologue
The darkness can frighten anyone to their core, but for some, it becomes a haunting companion. Eva is one of those people, trapped in a world where the sun's light has never touched her skin. Since childhood, she has been confined within the four walls of a house, her freedom restricted by a controlling family, and later, a cold, distant husband.
Eva's life has been a long, painful series of days spent alone in a room, a captive of her circumstances. She has never seen the sunrise, never felt the warmth of the sun on her face, for she has never been allowed outside. Her family abandoned her, and now, her husband—a man she thought might offer her some hope—shows her nothing but indifference. He never abuses her, yet he remains emotionally absent, only coming to her at night to fulfill his selfish desires.
When morning comes, he's already gone, leaving Eva alone in the cold silence of the room. Though she has every material possession a woman could dream of, she yearns for something far more precious: love. She wishes for a normal life, for genuine 6+affection, for happiness. Instead, she finds herself ensnared by a man who sees her as nothing more than an object—an object for his control, his pleasure, and his needs.
Her husband is a devil in human form—arrogant, dangerous, with cold eyes that could freeze anyone’s soul. His presence is overpowering, his stare suffocating. Eva is terrified of him, but what can she do? She is trapped in his world, caught in the grip of a man who rules with cruelty and manipulation.
One night, after a particularly brutal encounter, Eva whispers, "Water." The sound barely escapes her lips, yet it’s enough to draw the devil’s attention. He’s standing on the balcony, smoking a cigar, his back to her. But the moment he hears her, he turns, his gaze landing on her fragile figure in bed.
She lies there, tangled in the sheets, her body exhausted from the night’s torment. He moves toward her, his presence looming over her like a storm cloud. Without a word, he fills a glass with water and leans down, his voice soft, but commanding.
"Open your eyes, sweetheart. Drink."
Eva is terrified, but she obeys, forced to meet his cold, emotionless eyes. His gaze is unyielding, his words like ice. "Never ignore me again. Understand?"
Her body shivers under his touch, but she nods, afraid of what would happen if she doesn’t. His kiss is punishing—dominant, relentless—and she surrenders herself to it. It's the only choice she has. She knows all too well that defying him would only make her life more unbearable. His control over her is complete; his power absolute.
As he watches her struggle with the aftermath of their night together, he smirks. "I’m sure you’re thirsty after our little session. Drink up."
The words sting, but Eva can’t bring herself to protest. She feels the weight of his presence as he forces her to drink, then gently lays her back in bed, his hands cold against her skin. Before she can gather her thoughts, he’s gone—back to the balcony, closing the door behind him.
A moment later, his phone rings. He answers, giving orders with his usual coldness before turning back to her.
"I have an important meeting," he tells her, his voice devoid of warmth. "I’m locking the door. Be a good girl, stay inside. Don’t make any mistakes. If you do, you know what will happen."
His words are a threat, but Eva doesn’t have the strength to protest. She nods, holding back tears, trying to suppress the flood of emotions threatening to overwhelm her.
He leaves, locking the door behind him, and the moment he’s gone, Eva’s tears fall. She cries for the life she’ll never have, for the love she’ll never feel, for the happiness that seems so far out of reach. Her body aches, her heart breaks, but there's nothing she can do.
She dreams of freedom, of a life where she’s not locked away in this prison. She wants to see the world beyond these walls, to feel the warmth of the sun on her face. But she knows this will never happen. She’s trapped, and the devil who controls her will never let her go.
Eva’s life is a dark, suffocating cycle—a cycle of despair, loneliness, and unrelenting fear. But deep down, a spark of hope remains. Will she ever break free from the grip of the devil, or will she be forever lost in the shadows of her own captivity?
