From the registration e-mail, Vic had the street address of the building where Matt was trapped. With Roxie…oh boy. She was a nice enough girl, Vic supposed, but she had a sarcastic wit he found wearisome after a while. He couldn’t imagine being in a moving elevator with her, let alone stuck between floors. Matt had pampered him last Friday after a hard day at work—Vic suspected he’d have to do the same for his lover once they got home. He turned down the transistor radio and slowed the bus as he peered through the icy windows, looking for street numbers. He was on a side street—the building was on Main, which was one-way down this end of town, and Vic couldn’t turn onto it from where he was. He had to drive past the building, circle the block, and come up at it from the opposite side. M
