Chapter 2 The rumours

He slowly closes his book and with a sigh looks to her. "Thanks." The words softly escape his lips as she shifts closer. "It's deep but...why do you write it? I mean it’s just so…depressing." He shoves the book back into his backpack while responding. "Because it's true." She slowly shakes her head as she hesitantly reaches for his hand. "I don't think that." She gives a soft smile, placing her palm on top of his as his gaze focused on their two overlapping hands but slowly slides his own free. "That's because you're still new...give it time you'll end up being just like them." She huffed in response as she turned back to her book and took notes from the teacher. As the bell rings a small group of girls follow after the new student giggling as they show her around, tossing compliments at her as she was dragged through the halls by the cheerleaders. Her day goes on a similar routine as the bell rings for lunch the girls happily giggle pulling her to the cafeteria like a ragdoll. She casually gathers what the school passed for food as she looks at how the people eat it she can't help but crinkle her nose in response as she turns to one of the cheerleaders. "How can you eat this stuff? it looks like something out the bottom of a dumpster." They turn to her all at once as the one closest to her tucks a few stray strands of shimmering blonde hair competing with her glimmering blue eyes, her petite frame wrapped in a faded pair of jeans and teal top. "Trust me, it looks bad but it tastes better than it looks." Afterwards, they all go about their business, her gaze wanders around the room seeing the typical high school clichés from jocks to nerds and drama students to goths but her gaze stops at the corner. She sees him again as he quietly sits alone biting into the crimson-coated flesh of an apple with his hood up keeping most of his face hidden just enough to not be noticed by a majority of the people that sat in the room, she leans closer to one of the cheerleaders whispering to her. "Hey what's the story with him? Apparently, there is some kind of rumours with him.” She slowly lifts her head from her meal as she looks to see him. "Oh him...well I don't know if that's such a good..." Before she can finish her sentence one of the passing jocks jumps on the table standing tall, a sinister grin supported by a sharp jawline, a potent Auburn gaze scans the room for willing ears while wearing a red and white jacket with the school’s mascot on the back, a black t-shirt and jeans. Radiating with pride he announces. "You really wanna know? Well, I'll tell ya." The cheerleader quickly jumped up in retaliation, grabbing a hold of the back of his jacket and tugging on the fabric. "Cut it out Jason we don't need a whole show of this." He scoffs yanking the jacket out of her grasp with a smirk. "Relax babe I'm just reminding everyone about our local legend of the school…or should I say the curse?" An arrogant smile was plastered across his face as the cheerleader crossed her arms and furrows her brows at him. "Jason if you dare do this then we are over you hear?!" The jock shrugs off the remark, chuckling in response. "Alright well here's the story of the monster of Lycan High."
