Chapter 12

Xavier's POV

Isaac and I waited in the transport vehicle parked at the back for the hour that Anna said it would take. Once the hour was up and still no sign of Anna, I was starting to get worried. Did the cops do anything? I am sure they are going to make this very difficult. "Why don’t you mind-link Anna and ask instead of silently freaking out over there." Isaac was looking at me with his eyebrow raised. I didn't think I was being that obvious about my discomfort in the it taking longer. Soon after he said that they came out the back door and we helped load her up. She was looking as if in pain, her eyebrows furrowed and a pain looked on her face. Sweat was pouring from her forehead running down her cheeks.

"What happened to her?" I growled out at Anna and Rachel. Anna stepped back bowing slightly to me. "Alpha, she started to destabilize soon after we started the plan to get her out. It played well into the plan but when we got her to the morgue she wouldn't stabilize. I had mind-linked someone to bring equipment to the morgue to see what was causing the distress, but soon after she calmed down. Though after that we saw something else, Rachel show the Alpha her wrist." Rachel nodded and she lifted up Waverly's right wrist and there was a tattoo of a symbol it was a line with one end curved upward and the other end curved down. Three dots were on the top of the line where the end curved up and next to the other end was two vertical lines going through it. A circle of intricate swirls that looked like vines were around the symbol.

"Where did this come from?" I asked while running me finger over the symbol. "Alpha it was there once she stabilized. She hasn’t stopped sweating since it started in the room. Like I said earlier I think I know what is happening but my mother Elder May will know exactly what this is. I have already called her to have her meet you at the pack hospital. I have to go and deal with the cops and the rest of the cover up." Anna bowed again and took off back into the hospital. 'MATE is hurting, stop looking at her and let's GO!' Rom was agitated that I was still looking at her wrist and back at her face again. What are you mate? I wonder to myself. 'XAVIER' Rom growled in my mind. 'Sorry Rom, we are going now.' I mentally scolded myself while seeing Rom huff in my mind to let me know he isn't the least bit happy at all with me.

It took us 45 minutes to get back to the pack hospital and get her unloaded and back to her original room when I had first found her. I haven't left since we got here and Anna's mother Elder May was waiting for us when we got here. She has been studying my mate carefully, along with the symbol. Rachel filled her in on how all her wounds are healed leaving behind no scars. The weird spike in her heart rate and her constant sweating, which isn't from anything as she is completely healthy now. She just isn't waking up. "What do you think it could be May?" Rachel was off to the side with Elder May as she looked over her file. "Well, Alpha, Rachel, our Luna is a Guardian. A very special being and one of the most powerful to walk the earth." May had walked over to my Mate's side and was smiling down at her. "Elder May, I haven't heard of Guardian before and why would the Moon Goddess bestow such a power onto a human? I mean her scent hasn't changed much, just a little different but still mostly human." I was confused, I am an Alpha and was taught about all the creatures and I have never heard of a Guardian.

May chuckled and grabbed a chair off to the side and sat down. "Well Alpha, the Moon Goddess has nothing to do with Guardians. The best way to explain is from the beginning." Ok I am even more confused now, but I nodded for her to continue. "You see all the beings including humans did not start out on Earth. We all belonged to the Archway planets, there were 4 of them. They make are Archway above Earth, people cannot see them now since they are locked away to keep an evil we never want to see from getting to us. The planet Aer is where the first Goddess ever created ruled, her name was Theadomma. She had 2 sisters named Pallamay and Nyxsis, and a brother named Ravannah. He was the youngest of the three and because of this he was the weakest. Each had their own world Pallamay ruled Hudor, Nyxsis ruled Pur and Ravannah ruled Ge. Each planet was a home world for different supernaturals, we were called Larkins back then. Pur is the home planet of the Werewolves and Dragons, Aer is the home planet of the Vampires, Hudor is the home planet of the Seress and Sirens, and finally you have Ge the home world to the witches. They all liv-" I didn’t let her finish, I was just to overwhelmed, this couldn't be true. " So which planet was the Moon Goddess from, I mean she is the only Goddess we know." I am seriously thinking Elder May has lost it being all alone at edge of the pack territory.

"Patience young Alpha. Now like I was saying they all lived in harmony and peace. They traded between each other using portals as a bridge between worlds. Ravannah became angry with the people of his planet, as they didn't worship him the way his siblings planets did. This started a darkness in his mind, his jealousy and eventual hatred of his own people and his sisters would drive him to kill all those who were on his planet. Taking back the power he gave them, that also became his goal. To take the power from all creatures to become stronger so that he could kill his sisters, take their power and rule the universe how he sees fit. Theadomma and her sisters tried to rescue as many witches as they could and then sealed the portals to their world cutting of Ravannah and the hell world he created. Unfortunatley the darkness that he made had already spread amongst the other worlds and those who were not strong enough to stay out of its hold fell. Those who fell prey to the darkness were now barren, no longer able to reproduce, those who saw the temptation and tried to act on it but stopped at the last minute were punished by their children would no longer receive the gift of the goddesses, they would be known as humans, and then there were those who stayed true to the goddesses and never acknowledge the darkness when it spoke to them they kept their powers and are why we are still here today. The darkness couldn’t be stopped, wars started to range on the other worlds as the Larkins who turned to the darkness started killing the others and wanting power. The goddesses were now in a race to save their creations from being destroyed and all of these planets from become hell worlds like the one Ravannah was trapped in. Each one made plans and prophecies to contend with the ever growing darkness, however they would not be able to save the Archway.

Eventually Theadomma gave her power to her child named Eden who will be the one to destroy Ravannah and trap the darkness within the sword of Gods. Since the darkness cannot be destroyed without destroying all of the universe it must be contained and thrown into oblivion where no one can get access. That way the darkness cannot feed off of them and use them as a physical weapon. During the first Prophecy our goddess Nyxsis destroyed her world, killing herself and her 3 daughters in an effort to slow Ravannah down and to ensure that he could not get to them and siphon their power to make him stronger. Pallamay battled her brother but eventually lost, just before the final blow Pallamay gave her power to her daughter she hidden away to insure Ravannah couldn't access the timeline she was the keeper of and move amongst the worlds as he pleased devouring power and souls to become stronger. 

Only a few of our kind were able to make it to Aer where we would be led to the bridge to Earth or in the terms of the Gods Aither (the untouched world). We call this the Great Migration, where small amounts of all Larkins and the humans were ushered into the new world, while Eden destroyed the portals on Aer and sealing the one here on Earth. Since then Eden was weakened and would need to rest to gain her powers back, she wouldn’t be able to watch over our new world. So she created the Moon Goddess, her name was Selene a very strong werewolf who fought by her side during the Migration. She gave Selene the power of the goddesses and made her into one of them. Selene's job was to oversee our world and keep the Larkin race from going extinct, she gives us the ability of mates to make our survival easier and to find love in a world of chaos. Humans were given the chance to thrive here as our home worlds are extreme and many humans died since they couldn't take the environment we were created to endure. The gods would not punish a race of people just because of how they became to be. Humans struggle with the darkness they are born with but they still have the light to guide them to what is right.

Ravannah would cause rips in the veil that seals him away allowing his minions to step through and create havoc on the world looking for Eden and the sword that could open the portal to Earth. Eden hid the sword and created a guardian, since Selene is on the plane of the Gods she cannot walk amongst use to keep us safe. Therefore a Guardian was made. She is the strongest being on Earth and she carries Eden's powers with her. Her job is to protect us from the ones who follow Ravannah on our world, those who hope to release him from the veil's prison and unleash him on Earth. Our Luna here is the first Guardian in over 500 years to be born. They are only born and awoken when Ravannah and his minions are making steps to getting the portal open. This is the first step to the final Prophecy coming to pass, where Eden and Ravannah will battle and we will either survive or we will all perish. We must keep her safe and when the time comes she will protect us until her dying breath." May finished and sighed with a slight smile on her face.

"Alpha" she said I was still trying to absorb all of this, our own history is way more than I ever thought. "Alpha?" May was now looking right at me a little concerned. "Huh...oh sorry May, yes?" I had to shake my thoughts to be able to focus on her.  "The Luna will wake up once she has gone through her awakening, the symbol on her wrist is the beginning, when she awakes she will be at her full potential. The blue in her eyes will  glow when danger is near and she will have this overwhelming urge to protect all of us. Do not let the mate bond stop you from allowing her to be what she is created to be, we will need her in the future. As I said a Guardian is only born and awoken if Ravannah has made headway with his plans. I can tell you we will eventually have to fight his most loyal minions the Shadorian's they will come looking for her to take her power to set their master free." May stood up after this and placed a hand on Waverly's head. Smiling down at her, "What an honor it is to have you as a Luna." she said. "Alpha, it won't be long now she will be awake, stay with her she will want to see you. If she has any more questions or anyone would like to know more about the worlds before or any questions at all you know where to find me." With that she smiled and took her leave.

"So Xavier, that was a mind blowing conversation, hell of a bigger picture don’t you think?" Isaac had never left the room listening to all of it. "Yeah it is, I am still confused but all in all my mate and your Luna is pretty amazing. Now to make sure she understands what she is and how to overcome letting her train to be her true potential. I hope that these things never come after her and she doesn’t have to use her power or battle." I held her left hand and rub the side of her arm, sparks spreading through me as I touched her skin. Suddenly she made a groaning sound and I leaned closer to her. 'MATE is waking up!' Rom was prancing around in my head with happiness. 'She is so amazing we are so lucky!' he said in awe as we watched her blink her eyes to adjust to the room. Slowly she turned her head toward me and a huge smile appeared on her face. "I am so glad you came back to me." I said to her with a huge smile on my face as well. All she said in return was "My green eyes, I finally get to be with you." Rom and I swooned at the thought she called us her green eyes. She did pass out before I told her my name. I looked down at her slowly trailing my finger down her cheek, her eyes never leaving mine. "My name is Xavier beautiful, and I am your mate."
