Chapter 13

Xavier's POV

It has been 2 months since Waverly woke up and she has adjusted really well into the pack life and being a Guardian. Though at times I do feel bad for her as she can feel those being killed by the Shadorian's as they gather up the light within innocent souls to try and fill their dagger that will unlock the portal here on Earth and set their precious god Ravannah free. As her mate I can feel what she feels, but I know she feels it much more than I do. I try to ease her through the bond and sometimes it works unless they kill someone young, like a child. Those are the times nothing can help that pain, she says it feels like they are being cut out of her soul, and the only thing that it makes me think of is when I loose someone in the pack. As the bond of the pack member is severed you feel their soul being ripped away from you. As an Alpha I am the father/leader of the pack and feel their bond more painfully when it is broken then the other members of the pack does, as we all feel the loss of a pack member. Beside that the only other thing is when a wolf loses their mate. Most wolves will die from the loss and some become crazy without them and become rouges. Alpha's who did survive the loss would become harsh and cruel to their pack. I hope this never happens to me.

Waverly has been adjusting well, like I said earlier. She accepted our bond immediately and within just a week we finished sealing our bond and held the Luna ceremony. Everyone in the pack has been great to her and after we held a meeting with the whole pack where Elder May explained to everyone our history and how very special their Luna was. I couldn't have been more proud of my pack and so was Rom, as the pack cheered their Luna once more at the end of the meeting. He was happy that our mate was accepted so well. She has been learning her abilities one day at a time and what she has learned so far has been pretty amazing. She can create a shield that can protect an individual or our entire pack including the nearest city if she has too. She can detect evil from anywhere just about, this power is overwhelming at times as she is connected to all living beings. She has learned how to hone it in from May, who had 1 old book that only has about 100 pages but it is an account from Eden herself of what the Guardian would be like and what they could do. She is able to keep her Sensing power as she calls it dialed down to just our pack or the surrounding area, which is how we found out that the rouges have been moving near the South border. Something that will be a problem in the future, I just know it. I have felt the strange feeling of something bad coming but I just hope it isn't those looking for Waverly. I hope the rouges have some Alpha looking for land that way the war would just be normal nothing too serious, since we know the Shadorian's that will eventually come are a lot stronger than us, hence why we have a Guardian.

She has been working on Eden's favorite power, Eden could inject her Vampire enemies with fire straight into their veins, burning them from the inside out. Waverly tried yesterday to hone in on it, but when she felt her teeth sharpen enough to cut her own lip, she freaked out. May explained that Eden was the daughter of Theadomma the first Goddess who created the Vampires. There are three kinds now, Polarian those who never turned to the darkness and these could still walk in daylight and they only feed off of Animals blood if they need any for the most part they eat like humans do. They also can only be killed by decapitation or a silver blade through the heart. Fire doesn’t affect them at all. Then you have the Shadorian's these are more like what we know as Vampires. They can only be killed with a blade through the heart, the sun as they are confined to the darkness, and from burning from the inside out. Last but not least is the vampires of the human world they are just Vampires. They can be killed of course by the sun, a stake through the heart, fire, decapitation, and silver. Eden was a Polarian vampire by birth, so this ability was passed down to Waverly as the Guardian was created by Eden. After May explained that there wouldn’t be any blood lust like with the Shadorian's or the human turned Vampires she wouldn’t have to worry about turning evil or wanting to kill anyone but those with evil running through them. She was more comfortable and now that is her new favorite power besides

the shielding.

As I look at her on the training grounds I am just overwhelmed with happiness. I watch her train everyday once I am done, and after we get breakfast and she then goes to May and learns more about her powers. She is so beautiful, strong and an amazing Luna. She has so much love within her and the pups love to see her when she visits them at the school. I am more in love with my mate every day, I am still working on my protectiveness but I know deep down if she wanted she could take me and a whole pack, so that helps me let go a little. 'Will you get out of your head? Our MATE is on her way over here. God she is so beautiful.' Rom sighs at the end he is a love sick pup ever since she woke up. 'Hey I am not a pup and I have been a love sick Alpha wolf since I laid eyes on her.' he growled the "not a pup" part. I laugh at him and look towards my mate. She is finishing up, time for breakfast.

Waverly's POV

I just finished my combat training for the day and now I am walking towards my mate to go eat breakfast with the pack. We have a huge dining room that can fit the whole pack at it. Well it is more like a cafeteria, granted a lot of the members have their own homes with their families and they don’t join us unless we have an event. Either way I am excited about breakfast cause I am starving! I have adjusted pretty well and since I have no family, it was really amazing how they all welcomed me in and made me feel like a part of their world. Even though I am a super human, pun intended, and I guess I am a part of their world but I am still getting used to not being a normal human. The worst part of being a Guardian is that I feel those I call Innocents being killed by the Shadorian's. They are far from me but every day they get closer and eventually they will be able to feel how strong the light runs through my veins and will come for me. I am just glad it isn't anytime soon.

When I get eating breakfast Xavier goes to his office to work on his Alpha stuff and I head to Elder May's house to talk to her. I haven't told my mate about the dreams since I woke up. They have been coming every couple of days and I fear they are a warning. It is the same scene every time, just like I had during my awakening. The field where I know understand is my pack being slaughtered and me standing in between an evil woman with black eyes and a man that looks so much like Ex-Alpha Carter and my mate is scares me. He looks completely different from the kind and loving mate and old Alpha, I fear this may be Xavier's uncle that no one speaks the name of since he killed his Luna before Alpha Carter banished him and took his title. My eyes are black in this dream too, I can now tell all the light that was in me was gone. This is a future that I saw during my awakening and I do not want this to become a reality.

As I head into May's house she is already waiting for me in the living room with a cup of tea. She smiles at me and before I even sit down, she speaks. "I have a feeling you want to talk about the dreams you have been trying to hide from your mate." I just freeze, how the hell did she know that?
