A birthday with a twist
There was a legend once told between the diferente creatures of the so-called supernatural world. Of a single creature to join the different groups in to one and end the constant bickering and wars between them, for them to thrive as one. Like they use to so many thousands of years ago.
**Elenas POV**
I was in my wolf running between the trees of the forest along with my brother Alex. We some times split up trying to spook each other. Keeping the river that runs throughout the forest in our sight, the river that ended in a waterfall, which is always our end destination. The same place we run to whenever we are out running. It has become even better ever since my first shift one year ago, at the age of thirteen.
I really love running with my wolf Storm, feeling the wind in my fur and the dirt breaking beneath my paws. When I am out running I have a sense of freedom and strength. Although I at times wish to be stronger, as my family unlike most wolfs done live in a pack you could say we’re lone wolfs. I have been curious as for why we never belonged to a pack, but whenever I asked about it they seemed to try and avoid the questions. Yet my family do keep in contact with some alphas from a couple packs and some other shifters. Although I have never met them. When the alphas and shifters would have a meeting at our place, my parents would always make sure that I was away. And also whenever we were supposed to have a meeting at their place there would always only be one of us going, that being either mom, dad or Alex.
Lately we have grown closer to The blue moon pack as Alex found his mate. And has therefore been spending more time there. But I am still very happy that he makes time to hang out and have fun with me to, I was always scared the he would find his mate and end up not playing and running with me anymore. I mean I would always have Storm to keep me company but other then that I don’t really meet people or talk to people other then Alex and my mom and dad.
I reached the cliff side clearing with the waterfall and saw my brother laying there resting in his wolf. The grey wolf had a stripe of white fur coming down the middle of his face to his snout. Halfway up all of his paws and the tip of his tale was also white as if he had run true milk and had his grey fur soak up the color leaving it permanently white.
I jumped towards him trying to pin him down, but of course he saw me. We both rolled on the grass ending in him having me pinned to the ground. He jumped of me grabbing a backpack that is sitting against a tree and throwing me some clothes from inside. As we both shifted back and put on the clothes.
“So you think you can pin me down, ey little pup” Alex said smirking at me.
I smiled at him as I said “Well it was worth a try. Oh and I am not a little pup anymore I am a wolf” I said the last part standing tall and strong, well at least as tall as a 5’1 fourteen year old girl can be beside a 6’2 twenty five year old male counterparts.
“You’ll always be my little pup, and I will always be there to protect you no matter way” he smiled at me.
I approached him hugging him as his body towers over me “I can protect myself I am not helpless you know, but I really do appreciate it” I said as he hugs me back and I relax in his warm embrace.
“Talking about protecting, when can I meet you mate, I need to know what my competition is for having my brothers love” I say slowly tilting my head up and meeting he’s bright green eyes and short bark brown curly hair.
“Sorry Elena you can’t meet her yet, and I don’t know when you can meet here. I can’t bring you to The blue moon pack, or any of our other ally’s if we can even call them that for that matter. As fore the competition part of it, don’t you ever worry about that you will always have a place in my heart no matter what happens” he just said in a low voice with a hint of a sad smile forming on his face.
I didn’t say anything I just left the words sink in.
“Anyway does my birthday pup want to se her birthday presents” he said in a much more cheerful manner obviously trying to change the subject and cheer me up.
I still want to know why my own family is keeping so much from me but I let it go. I pulled myself out of the hug and started looking around to look for anything out of place, as the smile on my face was grown.
Alex just smiled and laughed “This way sis” he said walking towards one of the many trees around us, the only thing different about it was that it had a rope hanging down from it probably tide of to a tree branch at the top of the tree somewhere.
I was confused and looked at him “what’s the rope fore?”
He laughed “pull it”
I did and and the rope fell along with a soft books that landed at my feet, again I was confused.
“Open it” I heard Alex say, and I did.
It was surprised to se a lot of clothes, and before I could even ask.
“Happy birthday sis, we could have easily gotten you some fancy expensive necklaces or something, but you would never where them so what’s the point in that. So we settled for a 50/50 buy/homemade gift. In the sense the we bought a lot of clothes for you and changed them so that when you shift the clothes don’t directly get destroyed. They have certain points where they will let go. We figured it be the best gift considering you have let Storm out and been in your wolf almost more then you have been in your human body.”
I turned around looking at him smiling and went in for another hug. “Thank you so so much I absolutely love them.” He pulled me out of the hug and smiled back at me “You’re very welcome Elena”.
“Can we go home I want to thank mom and dad to” I said still smiling at him.
“Y—“
He was interested by the sound of gunfire in the distance so far away that human ears wouldn’t have heard it. My eyes widened and fear started growing as I immediately realized where the sound was coming from.
“MOM, DAD!” I screamed at the top of my lungs Storm pulling against me wanting to come out and run towards it. I let her take over and in a mater of seconds I was in my wolf letting Storm take the lead and running as fast as I could home. The cloths I was wearing now laying ripped and discarded on the ground.
