James is an alpha. But not just any alpha. He's an alpha of a viking pack. Ruthless and dominant. He knew one day he'd meet his mate but he never expected to meet her in Manhattan, New York. He certainly never expected she'd be human. It was rare that a werewolf and a human were bound together. He could see she was beautiful and tell she was head strong but still a fragile human. He knew instantly that he wanted her. But what could he possibly do with her? Could this human woman stand by his side and help rule his kingdom?

Cassi was a college student studying zoology at university in Manhattan, New York. She always liked animals over people. In her experience they were easier to work with. She wasn't looking for Mr. Right like other girls her age. Her focus was graduating and travel the world to study fascinating species. What happens when she meets Mr. tall dark and handsome who looks at her like she's the main course?

Will fate make or break this pair from two different worlds? Will James keep his dominating beast in line from consuming Cassi in every way? Will Cassie accept James or will he have to simply take her?

Mate
(James POV) He straitened his red tie in the hall mirror, while staring broodily at himself. He hated this. He hated being here. He hated being away from his home. His pack. His kingdom. He twitched his cuffs and his cuff link fell to the marble hall with a tink. James stooped to pick it up. On the link was his pack's symbol. A viking emerging with a beast. It was a reminder of where he came from. What he stood for. He leaned back to peek inside his room from the hall. The black haired beauty was naked and sprawled over his bed. What was her name? Sabrina? Sandra? Sara? His mouth twitched at how easy it was to pick her up at the club and get her into his penthouse suite. She was good in bed but far to easy. He was a wolf. He liked the hunt. Women just came to easy to him. His brother was worse. His brother would go for almost anything that moved and had a C-cup. His face was grim as he fixed his tie in the full length mirror. He and his wolf had been agitated for days. He hated staying in hotels. Away from his home. His pack. The annual meetings of all alphas was founded thousands of years ago by his elders as well as every other fae faction elders. All leaders of all factions would come together and talk of treaties, allies, territories, arranged marriages, war, threats against factions. All the same tedious talk. The penthouse his brother and him resided in was extravagant but it was still not home. New York was no place for a shifter in his opinion. His younger brother, Jonathan loved it. All the woman that he could want were here. As if on cue he heard his brothers key card in the lock before he strolled in. 'Get ready. You said you'd be gone an hour. You've been gone for almost three. We have to be in the conference room in an hour.' James steely voice was agitated and impatient. 'Relax, bro. I have plenty of time.' Jonathan assured while walking in and closing the door before facing his older brother. 'I had to go for a jog. Then there was this hot yoga instructor and damn! Man was she flexible. I like an adventurous woman who doesn't mind getting down and dirty in the bushes.' His brother flashed a smug smile. Completely satisfied with himself. Jonathan always had charm. So did James. But James actually could control himself. His brother on the other hand. James rolled his eyes and fixed his cuff links. 'Just hurry up. I'm going to grab a cup of coffee from the café across the street. Espresso machine is broken.' He answered getting more irritated. It didn't help he still hadn't had a cup of coffee yet. The espresso machine set in the kitchen was busted and scalded him with hot liquid When he tried to get some. He complained to front desk and the receptionist stammered an apology and assured one would be sent up complimentary. James declined. He'd just walk across the street and grab a cup. It might help simmer his wolf down to be out in the fresh air for a bit. "That would explain the mess in the kitchen. No matter. Maybe i'll call maid service and ask for some...assistance.' Jonathan picked up the phone and waggled his eyebrows at James. The impatient hiss of a sigh that came out of James didn't go unnoticed by his brother. 'Just don't be late.' James gruffly spoke. 'Bro, you need to chill. Maybe you need maid service more then I do.' James walked past his brother and fetched his suit jacket and walked out the door His wolf was pacing back in forth. He knew he was always on edge in the city but today he was more stir crazy. James counted the minutes to when he could leave here tomorrow morning. The café that was right across from the hotel was packed and loud. It smelled of coffee beans, flavored syrup, and baked goods. With his heightened werewolf senses he could also smell, perfume, cologne, deodorant, and other cosmetics human tended to use. When he finally got the counter and gave the barista his order and his name he stepped away. By a miracle two ladies who looked like they just came from a jog stood from a small table by the window next to the entrance and left with their orders. James sat down quickly. His wolf was clawing at the inside of his mind, wanting to be let out. What the hell is wrong with you? James asked him mentally. His wolf didn't answer back. Not that James expected an answer. A shifter didn't talk mentally with their inner animal. They just knew what the shifter wanted them to know. It was like a feeling or an image. A mind link. Suddenly his wolf went still then howled in his mind. The door of the café opened, jingling the bell attached to it's door knob. James got a whiff of the most appealing scent he's ever smelled. He smelled vanilla and...lilacs? Yes, lilacs. He looked up and just stared. A goddess. The only word to describe her. James sat there awe struck. Her Carmel blond hair was piled at the top of her head. Twisted and help up by a blue pen. She was gripping her light grey jacket together against the chilly autumn breeze that swept in behind her. The skinny jeans she was wearing were ripped in one knee and frayed on the other. The light blue converse she wore had seen better days but on her they looked adorable. Her delicate features were perfect. Her small pink lips were alluring as her wide cobalt eyes. He felt the pull the moment she walked in. He knew what that invisible pull was. He felt lighter then air. He dreaded this day but now that he had laid eyes on her he felt happiness spread through him. But then when he really focused on her scent, realization struck him. She was human. It was rare for humans to be paired with werewolves. Very rare. They were deemed to fragile and a liability. His human mate just walked into his life. Now the question was, what does he do with her?
