The candle lantern outside the room cast everything in a very dim light. She was numb. For that she was grateful for shock and its odd side effects. She knew she would feel the pain once it wore off.What the hell happened? The last thing she remembered was the party. Sort of. It was all a blur. The last clear thing she remembered was that damn drink of champagne. She was an i***t! She should have known. He was good. Brilliant. J
