All this while a priest had preached and prophesised to them about the incoming doom that lay with excessive love of self beauty and laziness. He felt bad for a the many people who were in a state of suffering and dire pain. But you must all know that a priest is a holy man of the gods and when he sleeps. His soul is taken to heaven by the gods themselves only to return after his slumber." Said Saygaku as he hawked his view across the faces on the crowd to code the reactions from their faces.
" Yes we know that Priest are men of the goods, but only you knows the aspect of transcending them to the heavens in their sleep." Said a middle aged woman who seemed to be engulfed in the story.
" Well i know that for sure because I am a priest myself. I remain at the border between heaven and hell as only there can I eat up the Sins of humans who had erred drastically while alive on air.". Said Saygaku with a sober tone of seriousness. There was a series of murmuring and laughing amidst the crowd. The notion of Saygaku being a priest only made his narrative sound like a satyre to majority of the crowd who saw him as someone who was was mentally derailed.
" You don't believe me eh?. Your cup of tea. Well the priest had always spent his night happy in the heavens very far away from the pain and suffering in his land. One night the pain became to deep for him to bear and went out to the street in the night were a homeless man which had always given a pie or a slice of bread lay there sleeping under the chilly night weather without a blanket. There were so much mosquitoes feasting on the old man that the priest had confused their dar skin color as a blanket. It was only when he approached the old man that he saw them fly off in their scores. This scenario made the priest even sad the more. He felt that heaven had giant mansions that were almost scanty and here was an old man lying homeless on the streets. I will help you sir. You have sufferd alot. It's time to ascend to the Mansion above where you shall never be homeless again." Said the priest in an emotional whisper. He took out his chain like rosary and glanced from left to right to see if any was in sight. Upon confirming that the street were safely empty. He applied the Rosary on the neck of the old man and tightened so hardly that the oldman wiggled his leg severally before kicking the bucket.
" Ascend to the heavens in peace old man I have this world is full of pain". he said and walked away . Leaving the body of the dead man behind. Still wandering on the streets of the town he saw a young boy shivering so hard under the cold and concluded the child was suffering too much. At first he had thought of giving his own coat to the boy to wear but then he realized he had only one coat at the coming winter was going to be fatal if he had no thick clothings to chest off it's effect. He went close to the boy and sad oh Lad, seems to me you are cold and alone in this world. Should I take you to place full of warm and loving angels. You shall never shoved in your life again." Asked the priest in a emotional tone.
" Yes sir . Please take me there. I'm always out in the cold every night. I suffer a lot." Said the little boy as vapour oozed from his mouth.
" Good. Chew this tablet first as soon as you are done swallowing it, we will be on our way. " Said the priest and gave the child a poisonous tablet.
"Oh thank you. You are so kind sir." Said the unsuspecting lad and chewed the tablet before ingesting it. Well the tablet was so lethal that in less than a minute the Soul of the child had ascended to the heavens above leaving behind his lifeless remains.
" Farewell my child. This world is so cold. Ascend to heaven where it is so warm with a dozen angels to play with you. You shall never be warm or lonely again." Said the priest and Walked away in search of people to save. Later that night on an empty street. He noticed a house that had not turned off their light. Their kerosene lamp was still on and it give radiance to their rooms. The priest thought it was strange and headed to the house to see why their lights were not off at that time of night. He saw a woman sitting next to her sick husband and her sick child who lay groaning in pain as she took turns to massage their aching body with an old towel drenched in hot water.
"Peace be unto this house . I bring healing from the Lord , let me in." Said the priest in calm and sober tone. The woman recognized the priest at once and rushed to the door , opened it and ushered him in. Her skin was pale as paper and she was bearly holding on to.
" Oh Father heal my family. We have been sick for many days and have no more money to buy drugs from the chemist store. I fear for the worse in the coming days. " Said the woman and burst into soft sobs.
" Days you say. That's too much time to suffer when a better option is available. Oh dear lady. Wouldn't you want to go to a place where both you and your family will be saved from sickness and poverty?." Asked the priest in the most Kind voice the woman ever head.
" Oh Father . I will love that more than anything else. " She said as she wiped the tears away from her eyes . Savoring the new hope that the priest had brought.
" Good then. Here are three tablets. Chew one of it. Give one to your son and give one to your husband. You all should chew and swallow it immediately. It's the first step to redemption. " Said the priest and gave three of his poisonous tablets to the woman.
" Thank you very much father. You are so kind." Said the woman and quickly administered her one of the tablets to herself before assisting her husband and son to administer one each for themselves. The priest who had stood at the corner of their room watching them ingest the poison was very much satisfied when he realized that all three members of the family were motionless in death. He took out his holy book and prayed for them.
" Farewell my dear friends. Ascend the heavens in Glee. You shall never fall sick again." He said in an emotional tone and walked slowly out of the room feeling pleased with his sense of mercy.
Morning was almost upon the town as darkness had began to loose some of it shades to the rising light of day. The priest was in search of atleast one more Soul to save from the c*****e of the town. Not being able to find anyone for that night. He decided decided to call it a day and returned to his altar only to find an unexpected victim in his altar. A street lady had come early to confess her sins and she had waited for his coming to confess her sins amidst the sufferings that she felt.
