Siin had gradually began to slide into a positive mindset. The past weeks had been among the most challenging in his life , but he was a fighter who had always managed to make lemonades from the lemons thrown at him by life . He had always believed that his days of of pain and rejection was left at the shores of Congo, but it became clear to him that safe havens were truly earned never served on gold platters. It was time to become an achiever and claim and enjoy the many bounties of natures adventures. He no longer wanted to clean windows for the rest of his life . When he was much younger, he had nursed much prestine dreams in his teenage heart and part of those dreams was the goal of becoming a medical surgeon. It had been the amiable profession of his late mother who had been a popular surgeon among the locals in Congo. She had performed scores of free surgery on the villagers in Congo, before her untimely death during childbirth. Siin had been told by many people of his mother's beauty, generosity and benevolence . Some had made it clear to him that his presence gave them a cause to grief all over again as he was the sole cause of her death. They were of the oppinion that if he was never born, then their beloved nurse would still had been very much alive.
Back at Congo he enjoyed the privilege of having a formal education because his father was a recognise Chief who knew to some extent the value of formal education in a developing country. However Siin had to drop out of school when his scholarship was exhausted and his father was not willing to part with a dime for the cause of his sons education. Siin was a smart lad who made the most out of his time at school . He had learned to perfectly read and write and had good knowledge of the sciences . He was at the verge of concluding his secondary school education when his scholarship was terminated due to the civil war in Congo.
Consequently , the blueprint to his future was laid out and he simply wanted more from life than all the pain and suffering it had offered to him in the past and present, yet, the means to achieve anything great was so minimal and it crashed his psyche the more. Against all odd, he had decided that he would take a days off, each week so as to be in possession of time which was key in Scouting for better jobs that could pay him better and gave him more time to reflect on his life. Even though he felt the Sheikh would kick against his offer, he was bent on achieving greatness, and greatness he knew couldn't be achieved without taking on challenges.
[A few weeks later]
The hustle for a better job had not yielded any positive results. for each day he took an off , twenty five percent of his weekly wage were yanked off by his greedy master. And he had no choice but to thank them for their supposed favor and compassion. The losses he encountered only fueled his aspirations and made him even more determined to get a better job in the face of the teeming unemployment that existed in Salda Kalif. For Siin, he had sworn to once again earn the friendship of Kaltumi all over again, and he believed the only way he could do that was to uncover the circumstances surrounding her mysterious death and subsequently bring the perpetrators to their knees. To achieve that goal, he had to elevate his mindset from that of a sore looser to that of warrior that demanded great glories from life. He had concluded that a great mindset is key and it was time to start implementing his new doctrine.
Over the past weeks, the weather had been very bad in terms of furious winds conditions that swirled over the plains of Salda Kalif . Weather forecasters had warned of violent wind actions that could have fatal outcomes if not properly avoided. A stern warning had been issued out to workers that operated on high altitudes such as Pilots, window cleaners, sky divers and bungee jumpers, to try as much as possible to avoid the Space above especially for the few coming days . They had forecasted flash wind storms that were known to be powerful and capable of causing severe destruction to properties and human lives. All this warning had fallen short to the ear of Siin as he had no television and had no radio , thus listening to news was impossible for him. Even if had gotten hold of the information, chances were high that his Sheikh would have still strongly opined that he worked amidst the heavy winds if he wanted his other days efforts to properly count. That morning Siin had woke up feeling very positive about his life. Just the day before, he had opted for a days off as usual and had paid a visit to Mr Moraysis ,the Secretary who he had met at the Crystal tower. They had talked about the life and death of Kaltumi and how more investigation had to be carried out as the government of day had shielded the truth from the public. Siin had also told him about his quest to find a better paying job and Moraysis had promised to help him find a better job. The two men had developed a strong bond of trust that was glued by each man's interest to seeking justice for Kaltumi. Siin had wondered why Moraysis had so much regards for Kaltumi even after her death and he had asked Moraysis if he was a direct relative of Katumi. He later found out that , Moraysis used to be Kaltumis Loyal driver, since her days as a toddler . He had been employed by her Father, General Zaylan to convey Kaltumi to her destination of will. He had watched her grow and she was just like a child to him. The pain of loosing her, had broke his mind and caused him his good health. As a compensation for his loyalty to the Zaylan family. The general who had great trust in him , gave him an appointment as his personal office secretary which was less tasking than the driving on the busy roads of Salda Kalif, However the fact was that , General Zaylan did not want to lay Moraysis off so he gave him another job in his company.
For Siin, things were beginning to fall into place he had a very strong feeling that General Hozayn. Who was the leader of the Gulf league had ordered for the execution of Kaltumi not because she had stood against their verdict but because she had made it clear, that she was never going to marry a monster like him. The only thing stopping Siin from proceeding with his investigation were resources and Moraysis had promised to help me find a good paying job.
[One day later]
A new dawn had arrived and Siin had also arrived early at his work station . He greeted his colleagues who manned the other sides of the building . A conversation soon ensured between them and it was about the warning news for high altitudes workers by the weather forecasters .
" I heard that wind actions for the month are predicted to be rough especially at higher altitudes. We all have to be at the top of our games. If the winds get too strong while we are working. We must desist from the work and immediately call it a day. " Said Bindiga, a Philippine in his late forties, who was the oldest window cleaner in the hood. Every other window cleaner looked up to him for as a source of knowledge on the job, owing to his vast experience and expertise.
" Yes sir" the men had replied in Unison, in affirmation to what Bindiga had Said.
" Good then , good luck to us all . Lets have a wonderful day ." said Bindiga as he signaled the men to take their leave.
Siin was quick to commence work . His high spirited nature had pumped him up with all the mental energy he needed and he wasn't going to let any caution talk from Bindiga to weigh down his morale . He believed that he had worked through worse weather conditions in the past and it all went well from beginning to end. He strapped his safety jacket to himself very firmly and began to spray the window glass with liquid soap before using a wet towel to wipe it clean. He was about approaching the seventh floor when the weather conditions began to get quite harsh. Thick black clouds had formed in the sky and the breeze had began to swirl quite violently. Yet from past experiences, Siin deducted that flash clouds didn't really post much threats as they most times disappeared in the speed at which they appeared. He was bent on rounding up his course of work not because he didn't care about his safety rather it was the fear of loosing the days pay after coming so far , that made Siin and most of his colleagues to continue with their duties in negligence of Bindigas warning. The Sheikh had supervisors who monitored the activities of the cleaners, and anyone who did not complete his course of work was viewed as fraudulent. Such defaulters were sure to miss any pay for that whole day.
Siin had been cleaning the glasses three hours and he could not imagine all that efforts going into waste especially at a moment when he needed money the most.
