1333 Words
Siin Lay on the bed,  while he gazed faintly  at the ceiling in an attempt to garner  infomative awareness of the strange looking environment. Beside him, was a strange looking creature that Sat quietly as it stared at him. It was unlike  what Siin  had ever seen in reality before. It had the physique of an ailing human dwarf  and was dressed in a thick woolen cloak that looked very old with lots of patches and cuts on it.  The skin of the creature was as pale as snow and as wrinkled as a cotton rag. Yet it exhumed a demeanor that basked  of nothing but kkindnesd. As if challenged by it's physicality, it clutched  firmly to a strange wooden staff, that clearly lacked the expertise  of a carpenter and that of a sculptor to. The staff  simply seemed to have been a young stem or better still a branch  which had been caught off a bigger branch and put into use without any form of refining . The creature had an ovally large  round head that screamingly distincted itself from that of normal humans.  The only creature that shared a slight similarity in respect to the creatures head was that of a slot or perhaps that of a koala bear. This had been the convictions of the creatures head in Siins regards. The wrinkled face of the creature was wide and confidently accomodated it's human like nose. It's mouth was constantly in hung in grin eluding manner that personified an aura of confidence which was  buttressed with knowledge and a constant peace of mind. Only Part of its eyes could be seen, as the hood of it's old cloak descended across its face till it  covered the region  from its  temple to the bridge of it's nose.  The creature  sat calmly on the  Chair, waiting for the Young man to awake from his slumber , nodded it's head slowly in relief,  upon realising that the young man had regained full consciousness. " Wellcome to the border world Siin, I'm glad you didn't cross over to do the world beyond." Said the creature in a calming voice that was very husky and old. At that point Siin who had  regained consciousness of his environment. Mustered all the energy he could afford from his veins and widened his eyes, towards the direction of the voice. All this whille, the image of the creature had seemed like an hullicination to him . Thus the words of Gamblesense, brought him further to full consciousness.  His shocked gaze , met the  warm smile of the strange creature who sat close to him. Rather than fear, his  emotions towards the bizarre looking creature was indifferent. Even Siin himself had felt a need to be startled by the looks of the creature, but alas . His emotions where intact as his spirit seemed to have been washed of any form of fear or humanly emotions. This made Him feel  at ease with the strange environment and everything in it. " Who are you ? and where am i? " said Siin in a tired voice as he slowly adjusted himself to sit on the bed. " My name is Gasol. Gassol Gamblesense , a king of wisdom" Said the Creature still maintaining its mild smile that radiated an aura of ease and confidence. " You are presently in a border world and this City of Sharja would be your classroom for all the knowledge and training you will be needing." Said Gassol and nodded slowly in affirmation to his own words. " Border.... am I dead ? " Siin sturtered as he felt his body to ascertain if he was tangible or just a combination of air molecules. " You are neither dear or alive. The border world is a realm for the rarest of souls who have failed to die and failed to survive. Thus their soul is stuck in this realm untill they decide where they want to go. It's simply a matter of proceeding and receeding. I am one of the keepers of the realm and I have been contacted from the Land beyond to impact you with vital skills and knowledge for your tax ahead. " Said Gamblesense in warm tone. At that point Siin had a flash back at the incident that led to his present condition. " I am a window cleaner. I was blown of the seventh floor by a powerful wind and I remember falling into a van. Wait " said sin and he hurried to the window and pulled the curtains so he could get a glimpse of the outside world. " This is Sharja, the famous ghost town I have seen on front of the dailies. If I am in a different world , then what I'm I doing in Sharja. " Said Siin as his gaze meandered across the gothic city in search of human activities. " Good question lad. The border world is immatterial, rather than a physical town, it's more of a figment of the mind. It exist only in the mind of the inhabitant. It comes to live only when visualized in an appropriate location which is physical and tangible. Ghost town must exist for reasons like this. The ambience of Sharja is so drenched in death, that it makes an Excellent location for the existence of the border world. " Said Gamblesense as he nodded slowly in confidence. " But I don't belong here . I live at Salda Kalif. It's the only place I can ever see kaltumi" please take me back. " Said Siin as he turned his gaze to that of Gamblesense. " Not so soon young Lad, the days are too young to be left on their own and the nights are too old to be left unguided. There are many things you will have to learn before going back to the world of the living. Your coming days are rough and only a sound knowledge and wisdom can salvage you from the wrath at hand. She that you call, is she who had contacted me to nourish you with wisdom and skills. " Said Gamblesense in his old voice and nodded slowly like an Agama lizard. " I don't understand you ,ehm, Gamblesense. What exactly I'm I to do here and do you know Kaltumi?" Siin asked , as he wasn't claer on what Gamblesense had been saying. " The question you ask, carries it own answers. Think!.. young lad , think. I know Kaltumi, now reach in for your inner wisdom and tell me the answers to the question you just asked." Said Gamblesense as he gazed warmly at Siin. " How do I that. I can't" said Siin feeling dumbfounded. " Impossible is nothing, thus nothing is also impossible. Now take a deep breath and think" said Gamblesense in calm tenor. There was no harm in trying Siin had thought. He drew a deep breath and closed his eyes to think and several answers unravalled in his head. " Gamblesense. I think I know the answer. " Siin said in flash. "Well , that was fast. Tell me about it." Said Gamblesense with a smile. " Upon discovering that kaltumi was a ghost, back in Salda Kalif. I vowed to garner resources to investigate her death and serve justice to the perpetrators. But I lacked both the knowledge and resources to accumulate any wealth and it made my life a living hell. I was helpless. And now help is here.thanks to Kaltumi who had ochestrated my coming" Said Siin with an air of confidence. " Marvellous indeed. You are learning fast . Your ability to reason and decipher is a lot higher in this realm. You must take as many gifts as you can before your span to remain here is over. Now come with me lets take a walk across the hall" Said Gamblesense as he stood up slowly and walked with the support of his staff.
