Acrimony

The journey to the facility was smooth and rather silent. She had not been in a mood to talk much so she had decided to read one of the several dailies in the car. She knew that Shehu was quite a talkertive who would use the slightest opportunity he had to narrate a story from the past. She had no mental energy to listen attentively. She needed all of such energy for the work at hand and that was Paramount for her.

As soon as she alighted the car with Mahir she headed straight for Siins office even knowing well that he was now a high practioner who only attended to visitors based on appointment. But she concluded she was neither a visitor nor a patient and even if she was. She was still going to be have access to him at all cost. The journey to Siins office felt like a lifetime to her due to the dozens of staffs she had to greet on the way. Most of them had not seen her since she left the facility and they took extra time not only to greet her but to also have a short a discussion on how she was now faring. After having to stop and greet about fourteen different staffs. She finally arrived at the door Siins office and paused in a halt. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

" Hello . Who is there please?" Said a voice from inside the office.

" Hi. It's me , Ramlah and Mahir to. " Said Ramlah as the speed of her breath heightened.

" Oh dear . Just a second ."said the voice and hurried to open the door.

" Doctor Siin . Good morning. I'm so lucky to meet you on seat. " Said Ramlah as she stood almost motionless before Siin who had just opened the door.

" Ramlah . What a surprise. Oh my little brother is growing fast.Please come in and have a seat." Said Siin as he reached forward to take Mahir in his hands.

" Thank you Doctor. It's been a while . I figured we should come and say hi to you. " Said Ramlah as she handed Mahir to Siin.

" That's so thoughtful of you Ramlah. Please have a seat how are you and how are your parents. I feel so bad that i haven't gone to greet them in person. You know how busy it gets around here most times. Infact I was in a theater session all night. That's why I had to rest off this morning." Said Siin as he sat down on his seat with Mahir in his Hands.

" I totally understand how it feels. My parents also sent their regards. They are all doing good . I was with them a couple of days back. " Said Ramlah as she on the that faced Siin the least.

" That's really great to hear. Please extend my regards to them. One of these days I will drive down to see them. " Said Siin as he smiled.

" That would be kind of you Doctor Siin. " Said Ramlah as she tried to calm her nerves. The presence of Siin always made her feel shy and nervous and those were two elements she struggled to mask properly. Most time all she could do was bend her head towards the ground to avoid the charm of his gaze.

" You look different today. And you smell very great. " Said Mahir as he smiled attractively at Ramlah. It made her Happy that Siin had noticed her efforts to look beautiful. But then she wasn't clear by what he meant by difference and had delayed to reply his compliment.

" Oh I mean you look even more beautiful today. You would easily pass for a beauty queen." Said Siin with a warm tone and a splitting smile.

" Thank you Doctor. I'm flattered" said Ramlah who felt so much joy she almost had a dance.

" Are you shy. ? You weren't shy on the first day I met you in the paramedic van." Said Siin in his usual soft tenor.

" I'm i shy.? I'm just nervous. I don't know." Said Ramlah and giggled softly.

" But why . Please always feel at ease around me. We are family . Family are free with each other." Said Siin.

" Okay I will ." Said Ramlah still failing to garner the strength to look Siin in the eye.

" Well we can start by looking at me. I want to see that pretty face of yours." Said Siin with an air of humble Majesty.

" Okay. " Said Ramlah and Chuckled lightly before finally raising her head to meet Siins gaze and almost instantly she made to cover her face with her palms and was halted by Siins signal.

" Don't cover your face. You are beautiful . The world needs to see more beautiful things unravalled and more ugly things covered." Said Siin as he took out time to examine the beauty on Ramlahs face.

" Yes I agree. And I think I am shy. " Said Ramlah whose gaze was not on Siins face even though her face and his were facing opposite directions.

" Well don't think. You are shy. That's so cute." Said Siin and Chuckled in Glee.

" You make me shy and nervous. I am only like this when I'm around you. Well you are a doctor perhaps you could make some diagnosis." Said Ramlah and burst into a giggle before bowing her head again. She felt good with herself. She had transformed the rush of adrenaline to bravery and it felt good.

" That's more like it. Half a problem shared is half a problem solved. Maybe be you are crushing. You still a teenager and emotions of people within your age are always running wild and free. " Said Siin almost in a joking manner.

" I'm a grown up Doctor Siin. My emotions are within my control." Said Ramlah as she found the strength to meet his gaze once again and Smiled.

" Great . Then I believe your healing is near. Since I have made a diagnosis." Said Siin and laughed lightly.

" Doctor Siin. " Said Ramlah in a flash.

" Yes my dear. I'm with you." Said Siin as the suddenness in her call had compelled him to pay her even more attention.

" I want to tell you something. It's something that has been on mind for quite some time now. " Said Ramlah with all seriousness. She had surpressed all emotions to establish the courage she needed to execute the task at hand.

" Wow . Sounds interesting. Please tell me about it."said Siin. As she sat even further away from the comfort of his Chair.

" Siin . I don't not know whether it's the kindness in your heart or if it's just your good looks and and sense of humor that has carved a niche in my heart. But Since the incident at the van . I have always had a cause to think about you . There is hardly anything I do without your thoughts coming to my mind. I tried to fight it off but I guess some emotions are bigger than what I can chase off on my own. I think I love you . I do not know how you would take such a news. But I had to take it off my mind. God knows it's been drowning slowly." Said Ramlah as she struggled not to loose focus due to the speed she spoke out her mind. She looked away from Siin as breathed in Self pity. Never had she thought she would stoop so low to woo a man. Indeed she was wielded by her wild emotions and she could only pray for a merciful outcome.
