A sudden feeling of helplessness had eloped Siin. He felt to have gone through the training at the border realm and just to end up dying in a morgue. As time went by, his desperation hightened and he found himself calling out his master.
" Master, where are you ?.Gamblesense can you hear me?." Siin cried out emotionaly as looked from side to Side to see if he could see the bearers of the two names he had called out to. Soon he realised that he was all alone as neither Gamblesense not Kaltumi were around to bail him out of the horrid situation he found himself. What broke him the most was the fact that at that moment, he needed them the most.
Feeling helpless to situations, all he could do was seat there and recall further on the travails of his life. His full memory was back and intact as he remembered everything from his days at Congo to his days at Salda Kalif . He remembered the love of his life and remembered the events sorrounding the fall that almost led to the loss of his life. He remembered his escapades with Gamblesense and remembered all the lessons on wisdom he had learnt. He recalled being trained as a surgeon as it was the only way he was instinctively able to perform a successful cessarean section on a dead woman. Indeed , it now appeared as prove to all what Gamblesense had thaught him was real. He also recalled that he owed his second chance at life with the new Jewels of wisdom and healing hands , to Kaltumi, Who was now his Lord and benefactor. The feeling of de javu became clear to Siins understanding. It was the fact that his mother had also died while giving birth to him that made him feel a close bond towards the infant and his mother. He could fathom the depths of pain, that made the the eyes of a dead person to shed tears incessantly. It reminded him of what Gamblesense had said about his mother's undying love for him and how sad she felt to leave him all alone in the cruel world. He understood that it was the helplessness to actualise a great will ,to care and support her infant that made her cry even after her transition to the realm of the dead. Siin could only wonder if his mother had loved him so much till she cried via her eyes that were rid of life. He held the infant warmly in assurance that the two of them had similar faiths and they were meant to achieve goals which they must achieve thus death was not an option on the list. He understood that even he remained for another week in the mortuary, neither he nor the infant was going to die as they had defeated the spirit of death and were simply enjoying the periodic stint of immortality.
" Shuuushh my little lad. Calm your soul and go to sleep. You have defeated the spirit of death and you shall live forever. Go to sleep my little boy and revamp your energy from mother nature herself." Said Sin as he gently tapped the baby to stop it from crying. The infant gradually ceased to cry and in show of innocence its gaze caught that of Siin and it smelled cheerfully before falling into a peaceful slumber. In the new understanding of events. Siin concluded on tolerating the freezing condition thus adapting quickly to it . The occasional rygon he had been experiencing came to halt. The freezing conditions now felt like fresh air to him while the frozen floor felt like carpet to his feet. All he needed to do was relax, in wait of the coming hours by which he believed the mortician on duty would have resumed.
Siin was in still in his calm slumber when he was awakened by a noise from across the hall. The mortician on morning duty had resumed and came in to inspect the conditions of the corpses. He was a young man of arab decent who was in his late twenties. Siin wasted no time in calling out to him. It was the dire need to give the infant a better clothing that bothered him the most. But first he had to be sure that the child was safe and hearty and after confirming that it was, he called out to the mortician with the most strategic manner possible so as not to freak the young man out or at worse, cause him to have a heart attack. He realised he had still been at exact exit door which he had tried to open some hours ago and it wasn't possible for the mortician to open the door without shoving him aside as his back was laid against the door while he sat on the bear floor. It then dawned on him that he may have been knocking on the wrong door all night, thus no one could hear him. He concluded there was no need crying over spilled milk as the challenge at hand was to appear normal enough to prevent another casualty. He concluded that if he stood and called out to him . He may appear as a ghost who posed a threat, but if he called out to him in his faint voice while he appeared helpless on the floor. He would only frighten the mortician a little and the mortician would still come to his aid as it wasn't unheard of for dead corpses in the mortuary to come back to life on rear occasions.
" Hello sir." Said Siin in a controlled volume that was just loud enough to catch the hearing of the mortician. The mortician was slightly hesitant at first before he turned around to see if any of his colleagues had came into the morgue along with him. He glanced around and suddenly saw Siin lying helplessly against the abandoned exit door. At first the Mortician was shocked and stepped back a few steps with his full gaze still focused on Siin. He was trying to decipher the strange signals his eyes were sending to his brain. Never in his four years of working as a mortician, had he experience anything like this before. He could clearly tell from Nylon wrapped around Siins body , that he was part of the corpse and a moving cops was nothing short of a ghost.
" Hello sir are you okay.?" Said the mortician as he suited his spectacles to have a clearer glimpse of what he was seeing. He had recognize Siin as the patient who had been rushed to the medical facility after falling from the seventh floor of a skyscraper. But he was startled because just the day before. The young man had been confirmed dead by a doctor and brought to the mortuary in Wait for his family members or colleagues to claim his body.
" I'm alright sir . I woke up on that table over there . I wasn't really dead." Said Siin as he feigned his helplessness the more.
" Oh mine . We totally appologise for that mistake Mr Siin... right?". Asked the mortician as he frantically hurried towards Siin to help evacuate him from the freezing room. The facility was already under fire for a case of negligence from one of the top Billionaires whose lawyer had brought a lawsuit early that morning. The Billionaire had filled an immediate lawsuit against the medical facility for exhibiting negligence that led to the avoidable death of his pregnant wife who had been involved in an accident and was not given adequate attention because she was without a police report and also because she wasn't of arab decent. The mortician wanted Siin to feel at ease, so as not follow suit in the line of the rich man who had lost his wife. The facility was already under fire and any department which dropped the service ball was to be disbanded without warning.
" How did you know my name sir? " Siin asked with some curiosity as the mortician hurried towards him from across the hall.
" You accident was on the new sir. You are quite famous in Sharja. A lot of people had been keeping vigils for you . You had been in coma for days. It was just yersterday that you were confirmed dead sir. Please forgive our negligence. I could swear you were without a single pulse when you were brought in here yersterday. " Said the Mortician who had picked up the sign of a baby in the wooling clothing Siin had held close to his chest. At first he had thought it was a device concocted but Siin to party off the cold from penetrating his chest, but at a closer look he realised it contained a child and he paused. Now in fear and doubt.
" Sir , is that a baby you are holding there." Said the Mortician in a voice that dripped of fear and confusion. He wasn't longer sure of Siins mortality. The fact that Siin could have been wrongly confirmed to be dead while he was still alive ,was a possibility but the presence of a baby didn't just add up at all. He kept the records of all the corpses that were brought into the morgue and he couldn't recall signing in any infant.
" Yes sir it's a baby boy. I had to take him off his mothers womb unless he would had shared her sad faith bas well. " Said Siin and tiredly pointed at the direction of the babies mother.
" Goodness gracious. What are you ?." Said the mortician as he hurried towards Siin and helped him up. He quickly took off his jacket and covered Siin, whose hands and legs had been exposed to the freezing cold.
" Let's get you two checked up immediately by the doctors. This is indeed a miracle." Said the Mortician as he joyfully collected the infant who had began to cry. He held the infant against his white chest with one hand, not minding the stains the b****y wool had transferred to his shirt. With his other hand he assisted a tired Siin, to his feet before gradually towing them out the freezing facility.
As soon as they were out of the morgue . The mortician began to quickly call for help from other colleagues who stood in shock to what they had been experiencing.
" Please come . Get some milk for the baby. It's hasn't had any food since it came to this world." Said Siin as he looked at the fresh morning sky that hung beautifully over Salda Kalif. The absence of crows in their murders and the absence of the delapitated building was met with beautiful buildings and merry cicadas that roamed the air waves. He felt so alive and was ready to take on the world. Even though at that moment, he was penniless, he knew the days to come were laden with treasures and he wasn't going to appear too confident if he bade farewell to the life of misery and suffering.
