BORDERS ON FIRE
Khasan, Russia, on the Tuman River. Directly across from the city of Tumanbon, North Korea. About 0.2 miles from the North Korean border.
“Why can’t we get a satellite feed? This thing is starting!” reporter Tammy Cho yelled to her cameraman over the sound of heavy gunfire.
“The satellite signal isn’t there! I’ve got nothing, s**t. Tammy, stay down! Come on, we’ve got to get out of the way of those tanks.”
Mortar shells landed not far from their position, and Russian tanks returned fire. Explosions were visible just across the river in North Korea. Tammy looked up and saw dozens of rockets fired from a multiple-rocket launcher streak toward North Korean positions.
“Charlie! I don’t give a s**t about the live feed. Start recording. Get this on tape!”
