Prologue
Come; let’s sadden this heart a little bit
Let me tell you the tale of this forsaken love.
Come; let’s carve this soul a while
Let us inscribe this grace to our very core.
Prologue
Was it destiny, she always wondered, that fueled all the things that happened in her life? From what she would be eating for breakfast to whether she would make it out alive from an accident. Would she be ecstatic to meet her best-friends after long or would it be another day in her life where she would experience an unexplainable sorrow deep in her bones? Whatever happened in her life, she always wondered. She wondered about the word ‘destiny’. What was it about this word that made so many hearts fill with hope and yet as many crushed with disappointment? Was it really this ‘destiny’ that makes or razes someone’s life? She always wondered.
This was yet another day when she was standing in front of her bedroom mirror, trying to analyze what kind of a day this would be. As she tied the maroon woolen scarf around her neck, her fingers brushed against the silver chain around her neck and her whole body broke out in goose bumps as the memory of how she came to possess this chain flashed before her eyes. She lowered her trembling hands and turned sideways to look out her window where the weather was windy and clouds were obscuring the whole sky. It seemed like it would be exceptionally cold outside. It might rain as well. The same as ‘that night’. Her breath hitched as these thoughts roamed around in her mind and suddenly she was transported almost a year back to the night she would, could, never forget.
