The birth of baby Amanda
It was a bright sunny day in Texas around the late 1990s, Amanda had just been rushed to the hospital due to a severe accident she encountered on the way back from work. Amanda happens to be a teacher in a nearby school, which is some miles away from her home and was heavily pregnant for Damien, who was an automobile mechanic, which everyone liked as a result of his honesty and devotion to his job. The accident scene featured a lot of people some of which had died on the spot and others being rushed to the hospital to receive medical attention, but a person people could pick point was Amanda because she lived close and was well-known, so people around Add put call to her husband which was Damien right at the accident scene before the arrival of the ambulance which would convey both the dead and the injured to the hospital. A few minutes before the arrival of the accident at the hospital, Damien had gotten to the hospital because he had been told what had happened to his wife, so he was quick to get to the hospital to see his wife and how she was doing. The ambulance got to the hospital, and Damien was there, but he wasn’t able to talk to his wife as she was lying unconscious on the stretcher; she was moved quickly to the hospital ward to continue the treatment that was being given to her inside the ambulance so her life could be saved. At this point, Damien was so scared because he knew from the condition he saw his wife that the accident was so intense and he was in doubt if he would see her again or even his unborn baby in her womb, but he kept calm and waited for the doctors or nurses to give him an update about her current condition. He was still waiting when a doctor approached him and told him his wife was in a critical situation and was close to labor if There would be a way to save the baby it would be through an operation and it would be a quick one as well because they might not be able to save Amanda but they could save her baby, So he had to sign a consent form for the doctors to proceed with the cesarean section (C-section), to save his baby and maybe his wife too. A few moments later, there was a loud baby’s voice; he became a little and, at the same time, unsure because it was a hospital and anyone could be in labor too, not just his wife, but he waited for an update from the doctor attending to his wife. Finally, the doctor appeared with a smile on his face and said to Damien “You’ve become a father today, but sorry we lost your wife”, he broke into tears but still accepted his faith as he had become a father to a baby girl, which he knew he had to take care of and not to let her miss her mom or grow with the mindset of lacking motherly or parental care, at this point, he knew he had to fill the gap of both mother and father in her life. A few days later, after proper check-up and medical attention, Damien's baby is discharged from the hospital as well as the body of his late wife, so she could receive a proper burial and rest in peace and others to continue with their lives. Damien thought of a name he could give his baby daughter but he thought of no other name than Amanda because he truly loved his wife and saw the reflection of his wife in his daughter. So he gave his daughter Amanda so he could see her every day and smile again and remember that his late wife was still with him. He took good care of care of Amanda and would take her to baby daycare every day and go on to pick her up so he would be able to work during the day and be with her during the night, this lasted for five years until Amanda became five years of age and could be fit to start kindergarten.
