“Let go of my hand!” she whispers defiantly. Karey had no grounds to behave in the way she’d just did. Nothing tied them together save for the scads of lies and broken promises. Karey had lost her claim on her years back with her gut wrenching betrayal.
Taking two strides at a time, Rain struggles to keep up with Karey’s speed as they move down the few steps at the entrance. The eyes on them as Karey hastily dragged her out intensifying.
“I said let go,” Rain repeats to Karey but her demand isn’t acknowledged and her hand remains captive.
