Rain turns onto her back staring into the pitch blackness sprawled all around her. The surroundings too dark, and offering a promise of nothingness to which Rain could not help but compare to her current situation. Her reunion with Karey and her sons seemed pointless if she couldn’t stay in their lives for good. The emotional rollercoaster she’d been strapped in the past couple of hours destined to only end in heart-rending consequences.
