“My God! Where have you two been?” My mum’s voice got to me before I saw her immediately I stepped into the room. I winced a little as Nate entered in after me, we’d both left our phones in here before leaving and I could only imagone my mum’s frustration and maybe panic when she called and realized that.
“Eating, at the rooftop.” I smiled at her, she was still unimpressed. I tried again. “It was a pretty view?”
Nate laughed quietly behind me and I turned to glare at him. He spoke up.
“We’re sorry.”
My mum sighed, shaking her head. “At least someone should take their phone with them. Both your phones have been ringing a lot and it wasn’t me.”
I lightly gasped. That’s right, I’d gotten a message from Aaron before we left, can’t believe I forgot to check that.
