Chapter Nine
** 8th March 2015 **
'Come on, What do you want for your birthday this year, you’re growing up, you need some thing cool?' Matt said happily as we walked into the shop called Candy Ink, It was a tattoo parlour that the guys had been coming to for a while, but they also did piercings. It sounded cute, cool and friendly, so not at all intimidating.
'Ok, Ok, what do you guys think I should get and where?' I asked. They were the ones covered head to toe in ink, I had virgin skin. I needed ideas. They thought about it for a moment. 'Come on guys, we don't have all day' I joked.
'Ok, Well, I'm paying so….My name above your ass!' Zane said with a cheeky grin. All the guys gave him a 'what the f**k' look. ‘I’m joking’. No one laughed. ‘What about some thing small and suttle for now, maybe... A particular date that means some thing to you?’ I couldn’t help but smile at the idea.
‘Perfect!’. Taking my hand, Zane walked me to the counter and rang the bell.
'Come on chicken, Let’s get you your first Ink' We waited for a few seconds before a very young, and pretty girl came out. At a guess, I’d say she was 18 or 19.
‘Hey there, How can I help?’
'Hi, We were wondering if you could do our friend a tattoo?' Matt asked, appearing behind us.
‘Of course’. She looked at me.
'And, how old are you?' She asked with a smile and a raised eye brow.
'13 today’ I could tell instantly she was going to turn me down. ‘Please?' I begged, she looked up at the guys and sighed.
'Are one of you her legal guardian?' It was already clear that she knew they weren’t.
'She's my little sister’. It was Angel who spoke up, walking over and draped his arm over my shoulders.
'I don't believe you’. I looked away, completely gutted, ‘But...if you want one, Come on through' She told me. Excitement built up inside me. I followed her through to the back with Zane.
I was scared it was going to hurt, but I was so excited!
'Ok, were do you want it?' She asked, setting her gun up. As the seconds rolled by, I became more and more nervous.
‘Can I have this date on my wrist please?’ I asked, scribbling down the date I had met the guys, and passed it over to her.
'So, is this your first one?' I nodded. 'Aww..well, don't worry Ok?, If it hurts let me know, and I’ll stop for a moment.' I nodded again. 'Does it bother any one if I put music on, It helps me focus?'
'No not at all, go a head' Zane told her. She smiled and picked up her phone, scanning through what I assumed was her Spotify and music suddenly started blasting through her speakers around the room.
Misfits, Which put a bigger smile on Zane’s face.
I climbed in the chair and the other guys came in to the room, Sitting in various places as the girl, who we had learned was called Lea, got to work.
It only took about 15 minutes, A lot quicker than I thought, and it was all done. I couldn’t stop looking at it. It was simple but beautiful, and meant so much! And surprisingly, it didn’t hurt, at all!
Zane spent the whole time making conversation with Lea. Candy Ink was her shop, which was seriously impressive! I think some one had a crush.
‘I love it!’ I told the guys as Zane and Lea left so he could go and pay. Kip took my hand and looked it over, nodding in agreement.
‘It looks pretty cute’ I smiled, blushing slightly and climbed off the chair. We all left the room and I noticed Zane slide something over the counter. I didn’t think any of the others noticed. We said our good byes and left the shop.
The guys had arranged a cute little get together with their girl friends for my birthday at Angel's house. With was shaping up to be the best birthday ever!
