Family Secrets

It was April 21st, 2008, when two sisters were walking home from school. One of the girls turned fifteen that day; her sister was only thirteen. The older girl had long dark blue hair with green eyes, her sister had long brown hair and hazel eyes. While walking, she handed her sister a small wrapped box. "Here, I want you to have this." She smiled and waited for her sister to open it. She had been out for a class and saw a matching beautiful black and orange butterfly pair of necklaces and thought of her sister, so she bought them. "See? I have the other half. That way we'll always find each other." She placed her hand on the necklace around her neck as her sister gasped and hugged her. "I love it thank you so much!!" She placed the necklace on and smiled, walking to the front door. However, when they reached the door, the older girl noticed that it was opened a bit already, which was weird. "Do me a favor and stay out here. You got the pocketknife dad gave you?" She said as she pulled her sister to the side of the house. "Yes but, what's going on? Why can't I go in with you?" The younger girl had a worried look on her face, wanting to go with her sister. "Because I said to stay here, you can call the police and tell them there is a break-in." The girl took out the pocket knife her father had given her and slowly walked into the house. The floor had blood on it as if someone were badly hurt but alive and dragged. She followed the blood trail to her parent's bedroom where she heard a man's voice. "Now now Michael, let's just get to the point and tell us where the money is! Ava wanted to know." She saw a large man, he looked to be around eighteen, maybe nineteen, her eyes widened at hearing her mother's name. "Ha! Like I would ever give in to you or my wife! I already know everything I need to make sure you boys and that b***h do not get the girls. And never will." Her dad was holding his side, his hand covered in blood, but her mother was nowhere to be found. "Tch, bad move Michael, I've been nice. You know my brother would have shot your face off by now, so unless you want to keep your life, I suggest you start talking now." He was talking about a brother? She sat there wondering where that brother was, just then she heard her sisters scream and ran out the door. She looked around and saw her sister lying in the grass a few steps away and rushed over, Maris noticed that her sister's leg had a fresh stab wound. Just below her was a man, he looked like the man who was inside talking to her father, but this one was passed out. Abby had dropped her phone with the 911 operator trying to talk. "1435 Palm Street, please send help, there are men here, my father has been shot and my sister has a severe stab wound to the leg. She is no longer responsive!" She pulled her sister over to the wall as support while on the phone. "Honey, what is your sister's name? What is your name? Does your sister have a pulse?" The older girl tried her best to stay calm because the other man was still inside with her father. She did not want to do anything to endanger her father or her or her sister's lives. "My name is Maris, Maris Snow and my sister's name is Abby. And let me check Miss." Maris sat the phone down and placed her index finger and middle finger on her sister's wrist, at the base of her thumb for about 30 seconds, then picked the phone up again. "She has one but it's low." She held her sister up to her chest tightly waiting for the woman to answer her back. She was scared but had to stay as calm as possible. "Sweetie, listen, I need you to explain to me what is happening exactly." The woman was doing her job and Maris knew this, so she started speaking in a quiet voice. "My sister and I were coming home to celebrate my fifteenth birthday. I noticed the door was ajar so I went inside and came across my father, Michael Snow, being questioned by a young male.
