CH. 31- Blitz

1697 Words
“I shouldn't have kept you alive, Blitz.” An older man who looks like Blitz spoke. Blitz's vision suddenly became hazy, and he saw himself in an Alleyway. “Where am I?” asks Blitz. When he looks at his hands, Blitz saw his hands smaller—seeing his hands Blitz rush towards a puddle of water. There he saw his reflection. Not as a teenage Blitz but a six-year-old Blitz. “What the hell, I am back in the past.” “Blitz, stop playing! Could you help me collect this trash?” a beautiful woman somewhere in her thirties spoke. She has long black hair that reaches her waist. Her clothes are old and ragged. “Ok, mother," Blitz replied to the woman who he calls mother. Blitz carried a sack containing trash that junkyards are willing to pay. After collecting the garbage, the two went to the junkyard, where they sold the collected waste. Blitz watches his mother negotiate with the owner of the junkyard. Then he saw the owner of the junkyard gave his mother money. But as his mother turns around, the junkyard owner grabs Blitz's mother's waist and slides his hands lower. But his mother ignored the owner and continue to walk away. “Such a disgusting pig," Blitz spoke to himself, seeing the scene. His mother then grabs Blitz in his arm and drags him away from the junkyard. The two stop at a gas station. His mother walked inside and bought food that could fill their stomach. To survive for another day in the streets, where they sleep. Blitz's mother only bought two pieces of bread. She divided the first bread in half and gave it to Blitz. She then pats Blitz on his head and spoke, “sorry, Blitz, if this is the only meal we can have.” “It's mom, as long as I am with you. The food tastes the best.” The young Blitz spoke. His mother wanted to cry after hearing him. But she kept it to herself and only hugged Blitz. “How long has it been since I last felt mother's warmth," Blitz spoke as he slowly dozes off. Morning came, Blitz and his mother continued to search for trash that they could sell. However, as they were collecting rubbish, a drunk man walks past them. But the drunkard saw Blitz's mother, the drunken man, steps back. And move closer to Blitz's mom. “Hey, you! How about a BJ for a three hundred." The man yells at Blitz's mother. But his mom walks away from the man and drags Blitz along with her. However, the man became annoyed and enraged after being ignored. He chased after the two with anger. Blitz's mom dashes upon seeing the raging man. Blitz also runs with his mother as the man chased them. However, his mother trips on the ground after the midsole of her old right shoe got removed while running. The drunkard was able to catch up with them. Blitz tried to fight the drunk man. Only to get a slap and thrown away. The man then lays himself on top of Blitz's mother. There he slaps Blitz's mother and strangles her. “You b***h, I am offering you a job. And you dare ignore it; guess I'll be having better service for free with this lower warm part of yours." The drunkard then rips the old jeans the woman wore. But before the man could do anything to his mother, Blitz swings a rusty iron pipe at the man. However, the drunkard dodges Blitz's attack as he saw Blitz's reflection on a glass. The man punches Blitz in the stomach as a retaliation. “Blitz!" Yelled his mother worriedly. But the drunkard slaps her after yelling her son's name. Blitz wanted to do something, but his body was weak and unable to breathe. After receiving the punch in his abdomen. The man laid back on top of his mother, but she did not give up without a fight. She struggled against the man punching her. But her punches were weak against the man. The man restrained her by holding her hands down. But as the man was about to use her. A man wearing a suit rushed in from behind kick the drunkard behind the back. The drunkard man angrily turns around to avenge himself. But as he turns, the man who kicked him had a pistol aimed at his head. “Do you think you can fool me with that, toy!” The drunkard yelled. But the mysterious man aimed his pistol above and fired a single shot. *BANG!* With the sound of a real gun, the drunkard rushes away from the scene, with his lowered pants restraining his movement. The man in the suit then looks at Blitz's mother. However, the injured young Blitz rushed to his mother and shielded her. From the man holding a gun. However, Blitz's vision was hazy, making the man's image unclear. But Blitz felt the man was familiar and safe. However, he doesn't want his mother to be hurt again. His care for his mother causes him to act to protect her. “Hina, long time no see. I see the boy has grown.” The man spoke as he has his gun. Upon hearing the man, Blitz remembered him. When his vision slowly became apparent. A man with short white hair and black eyes stood before him. “Father's assistant? Rommel?” Blitz thought unto himself upon seeing the man. “I remember, it's the time when my father wants an audience with my mother. I was the bastard son of my father, and this man was the start of me leaving my mother.” Said Blitz to himself as he drops to the ground as a sense of relief fills him. Rommel lowers himself to the same height as Blitz. He pulls out a handkerchief and wipes the blood dripping from Blitz's face. “The injury is not bad, but I have to bring you to a doctor.” *SMAAACK!* Hina slaps the hand of the man wiping his son's blood. “Don't touch my son! Go back to your boss and tell him. That I will not give Blitz to him." “I see. Miss Hina, if you jest, I'll take my leave. But let us take your son to a clinic. So a medical professional can treat his wounds.” Blood drips from Blitz's mouth, where a wound was visible, “Thank you for your offer but, I don't have money.” Said Hina to the man. “I will be paying for the bills and medicine." Spoke Rommel as Hina was about to walk away with Blitz. Hina had a hard time deciding about the offer. But the blood in Blitz's mouth worried her. So she agrees to let the man take Blitz to a clinic. Rommel took the two to a clinic. After being treated, Rommel offers them to take them somewhere they can eat.” Hina wasn't going to agree. But she remembers that he hasn't been able to sell any junk for today. No money means no food for both of them. She can still work overtime, but the junkyard would be closed after. So once again, she agrees on letting Rommel take them, somewhere they could eat. The three of them went into a restaurant for rich people. Rommel rented the entire restaurant to make Hina feel comfortable. The people would be annoyed if they saw a homeless mother and son eat at a high-class restaurant. Renting the restaurant is Rommel being cautious of such people. Blitz happily ate the food that he could never eat before. Hina, Blitz's mother, slowly ate her share. But instead of focusing on the food. She only gazes at Blitz happily eating the delicious food. It's the first time Blitz did not talk while eating. Hina knew this was a life that Blitz would enjoy if she lets him stay with his father. Hina wanted to cry but held in her tears. She doesn't want to ruin the mood of Blitz. However, Blitz is aware of his mother's loneliness. He wants to hug his mother and tell her that she doesn't like the food. He wanted to say to her, “the bread you buy at the gas station is more delicious.” However, his body would not allow him to say it. My chest is in pain, remembering this last scene. If I only knew mother that you don't want me to leave. I would have run away from that restaurant. Escaping the faith and the burden father put upon me to become the Helsing family's successor. Mother's eyes were bright red. I did not understand what it meant. But I knew she was in pain, and she only kept it to herself. She did not say anything and continue to eat the meal. She pretended that everything is fine to act strong in my eyes. Even in reality, she is suffering. She started avoiding my gaze and only replied to me with, “yes, ok, no." After that meal, my mother tapped Rommel on the shoulder and said, “I want to talk to you." Rommel and mother talk privately. Far away where I could not hear them. But when they returned, mother was different. She gazed at me coldly and spoke, “Blitz, you're going with Rommel." I drop my spoon on the plate and asks, “what do you mean?" “I have disowned you since you are a burden to be—a child for a large sum of money is not bad. I can live leisurely without you dragging me down." My mother coldly said those words. But those were lies; I was too young to notice. But mother's eyes were screaming in pain. I felt betrayed and sad after hearing my mother. I have become disgusted as Rommel drags me to his car. After giving my mother money. As Rommel drag me to his car, my mother did not even take a look at me. She just turned her back as I cry, “I want to be with you, mom.” Hatred towards her grew until I learned the truth.
