CH. 30- Trust?

1288 Words
Marcus kneels on the floor, feeling fear and anxiety. Loneliness dominates his mind; darkness, the red glowing eyes made Marcus experience fear. The intricate hilt of Mister Sword he always held disappeared into thin air. Marcus started to yell into the dark void, “Mister Sword! Lorenzo! Blitz! Where are you!?” He could only hear the echo of his yell and no reply. However, Clint and the doctor were seeing something different. Marcus still holds his sword, but he stood motionless. He's like an immovable and lifeless statue. Clint leaned his face to his fist. He then spoke, “Marcus's proper training will start. Now, what will you do, Marcus? You have fought multiple battles, but you still fear being alone. You don't even trust yourself that much, Marcus.” The doctor sitting next to Clint glues his eyes at the screen. The doctor's face became filled with wonder. After hearing Clint spout such statements at Marcus. The doctor remembers the question Marcus ask him. “Do you think this will help, your hunters Clint?" The doctor asks Clint. Clint replied, “These three are going on a dangerous mission. I want to avoid any casualties at all. That's why I'm trying to see their weaknesses and let them learn from this experience. You too, doc, know what's in Saudi Arabia.” The doctor turned his gaze to Clint and spoke, “I know why the organization wants them there. It's to search and eliminate the horror. That has taken the life of many hunters. I still remember that monster's face. The beast who haunted the organization for more than fifty years.” “You got too serious, doc. Also, I chose to give them this training because I want to have my revenge.” Clint replied to the severe answer of the doctor. The doctor let out a sigh and spoke, “you do have a vendetta against them.” “Who wouldn't be! I almost lost my salary after destroying the school.” Doc gazes back to the screen after hearing Clint's stupid reason. There he watches Marcus proceed with his training. He also took a peek at the other two hunters on the monitor. Marcus starts crying after no one answered his yells. But as he mopes, a voice spoke to him, “Why a weakling as you wields me? Remember my word, Marcus; I regret forming the contract with you.” “Mister Sword!” Marcus yells as he turns behind him. He saw a spotlight highlighting Mister Sword stuck on the concrete floor. He dashes to the spot and grabs Mister Sword. However, before he could touch the hilt of Mister Sword, the spotlight disappears into the darkness. Marcus tries to feel the direction where he saw Mister Sword last. But to no avail, he has not been able to find Mister Sword. Until another spotlight appeared behind, this time, it is highlighting Lorenzo. Marcus scratches his head in confusion. But he dashes toward Lorenzo. But before even reaching his friend. “Don't get any closer, weakling!" Yells Lorenzo to Marcus. “What do you mean, Lorenzo? Are we pals, right? I'm sure we can survive this training if we are together. So why don't we-” Marcus tries to reach his hand out. But Lorenzo ignored the hand. He then has a degrading look at Marcus while saying, “Don't infect me with your weakness. And never speak to me again, coward!” Lorenzo turns around. But before disappearing into the darkness, he spoke. “Marcus, you are the most useless person I have ever met in my existence.” Lorenzo disappears along with the spotlight. Receiving harsh words from his friend leads Marcus to drop on the floor. He then spoke unto himself, “Am I that weak? Am I that useless?” Marcus could feel his heart in pain. His body shook as he only cries, “weak, weak, weak,” repeatedly. “I AM WEAK!" Marcus yells in the darkness. But after Marcus scream, a faint voice spoke to him. “Hey… Kid!" The voice sound familiar to Marcus. But he could not grasp who is it. As the faint voice is too low and many things are running on Marcus's mind. But the familiar voice kept yelling until Marcus heard the voice loud and clear. “KID! SNAP OUT OF IT!” the voice belongs to Mister Sword. “M-mister Sword?” “Marcus, snap out it! Something is defecting your mind. Everything is just a dream. The things happening in your mind are not real. Come back to reality, Marcus and everything are going to be ok." “B-but Mister Sword, you said that you regret forming the contract. You said I am a weakling. Do you think you can still fool me, Mister Sword!? You're probably staying with me so you can find a better hunter. My eyes are wide open now, you stupid sword." “Shut Up!" Mister Sword Shuts down, Marcus! Upon seeing Marcus shut his mouth. Mister Sword spoke, “Are you even listening to yourself, Marcus! Do you even know what you are saying!" “O-of course!” “I see, so you don't trust me, Marcus." Mister Sword spoke, losing his raging voice. “It's okay, Marcus. But remember everything. I always help you fight monsters. And I was the one who saved you from that monster, Marcus.” “Everything I have done, you still don't trust me. Marcus, it might be better if we cut our pact now. I will look for another wielder. It saddens me, Marcus. That you always thought of me like that." Clint and the doctor saw this had a disappointed look on their faces. “Looks like everything is not going well for Marcus. He has fallen for the trickery of the room." Hearing Clint, the doctor also spoke, “I expected this to happen, Clint.” Clint turns his gaze to doc and asks, ”what do you mean by that?" “The last time I spoke with Marcus. I saw his a fragile one. He doesn't trust anyone easily, but when he puts his trust in someone, he thinks everything will be perfect. But when betrayed, he will break down like a piece of glass.” “I don't understand, doc, so I'm not gonna ask you anymore." Clint looked back to the monitor and continued to watch Marcus's progress. The doctor also did the same. Both of them ignored each other once again. But something piques the interest of the doctor. Blitz, who is the same as Marcus, is also not making significant progress as well. Like his ally, Blitz also was stiff as a statue. “Where am I?" Blitz asks himself. “Isn't this my house? Why am I here?" Then the voice of an older man erupts, dominating the atmosphere. “BLIIITZ!" Blitz gazed at the source of the yell and spoke, “f-father?" As a man almost similar to Blitz looks at him. “Blitz, you are the successor of this family. We have hunted monsters for generations. Now it is your turn; everyone in the family has high expectations of you. Now go out there and make your family proud. You carry the name of the Helsing family. The greatest generations of hunters! So do not fail us.” “Y-yes, father!" Blitz replied to the man. “But are you doing well?” The older man who Blitz calls father asks. “What do you mean, father?” Asks Blitz with a terrified voice. “If you are trying your best at earning to become the best hunter. Then what are you doing here? Are you neglecting your duties as the next generations of hunters? You have disappointed me, Blitz. I shouldn't have kept you alive if I knew you would do this. It would be best if you had died with your poor mother in the cold streets!”
