CH. 29- The Real Training?

1045 Words
A woman's voice echoed in the room. The unknown woman told them the program would start in thirty minutes. Marcus gripped Mister Sword tightly. Like his dear life depended on it. Utterly surprised, Mister Sword asked Marcus. “Are you scared, Marcus? Even this is not your first time facing death.” “I'm worried, Mister Sword; I'm not scared, as you mentioned. I have faced death multiple times. But I have not experienced it.” “Then what is your worry, Marcus. I am your weapon; you are free to tell me.” “Thank you, Mister Sword. I am worried if we can truly handle this—all of my fights. I always had help from others. Can I fight alone? Another thing that I am worried about is my allies.” Lorenzo grabbed Marcus's shoulder. He then grinned at Marcus and spoke, “We just met each other a couple of days. And you're already worried about us.” Blitz charged towards Marcus with his halberd; he aimed the pike of his halberd near Marcus's throat. “So you are looking down on me. Well, you should be more worried about yourself. Rather than worrying about us.” Blitz pulls his halberd away and continued his speech while his face turned red. “I'm not telling you this because we're friends or anything, i-i***t!” He then turns his gaze away from Marcus. He's like a male tsundere. That's a rare sight to see. It looks like they are the only one who exists on the real world. But damn, it would have been better if Blitz was female tsundere! These were the things running on both Marcus and Lorenzo's minds. After hearing Blitz speak. But their imagination got turned when Blitz asked, “Why don't we strategize a plan. While we still have time before the program starts?” “That's not a bad idea, Blitz. But has anyone came up with a plan yet?” Spoke Marcus. The three looked at each other, and no one replied to Marcus's question. The voice spoke once again and told them, “twenty minutes left before the program starts.” After hearing the voice, frustration enveloped the three hunters. Regret started to rush after not using the more extended time given to them earlier. Blitz was the most frustrated one. He was so focused on his traumatic experience. And listening to his fellow hunters argue. Leading him to be incapable of planning, Blitz still cannot believe that he ignored a very crucial thing. Clint observed them through multiple monitors, connected to tamed monsters' magic eyes placed all over the room. Clint was amused as he saw Blitz figure out something important very late. “Looks like you figured something essential. But you wasted all the time that you needed. Now how will your figure this out, Blitz?” “Looks like you have some vendetta against them, Clint. Training those three by putting them in the cursed room is a devil's work.” The doctor spoke, who was sitting next to Clint. “And how the hell you even managed to bring me here. Also, is it necessary to tie me to this chair?” The doctor added to his previous statement. “Boredom will take over me. If I am the only one who will witness the suffering of these three.” Marcus, Lorenzo, and Blitz nervously wait for the program to start. In a few minutes, darkness will engulf the room, which signals the start of the program. The lights glowing in the room turned off one by one. The training program has already begun. “It's going to start; you guys ready?” Lorenzo asked his comrades before the final light turned off. Both Blitz and Marcus replied, “We're ready.” The final light turned off, turning the room into complete darkness. Red glowing eyes started to appear everywhere in the pitch-black room. The there hunters charged into the darkness. They had no idea of what they were hitting, but in their minds, everything they struck is a monster. Unleashing all of their strength as they s***h their weapons. They did not give any worry about what they have attacked, however, as the fight continued. Marcus noticed something strange about the monsters. They were fighting in the pitch-black room; he stopped and observed the red glowing eyes closely. “Why are you stopping, Marcus?” Mister sword asked after Marcus stopped his attacks. “Mister Sword, isn't it strange. The monsters are not retaliating, even they have superior numbers. They could have easily overpowered us with quantity. But they are not using their numbers against us. Isn't it strange, Mister Sword?” “Now you pointed it, Marcus. I am starting to notice it too. It seems they had no intention to fight. What are they planning to do? I don't like this, Marcus.” “We should tell Blitz and Lorenzo about this, Mister Sword. Maybe we can figure out what these monsters' plans are.” “I guess that is a better way to beat all of these monsters. Now, I think about it. I may have some ideas on what these monster's plans are.” “What is it, Mister Sword? Can you at least tell me?” “It's better to find your comrades first. Before I tell you what's on my mind, I don't want to jump to conclusions first.” Marcus abandoned his bloodlust to fight the monsters. He starts looking for his comrades in the pitch dark room. Marcus had dropped his guard against the beasts in the darkness. He runs across the rooming yelling the names of his comrade. “Lorenzo! Blitz! Where are you!?” Marcus kept yelling into the pitch-black darkness, but no one replied to his yells. “What the hell is happening?” Marcus asked himself as he gazes into the infinite black void. With only the red glowing eyes of the monsters, painted the endless black darkness. Anxiety and fear start to engulf Marcus as he gazes into the darkness. He could feel the eyes watching him were dangerous. He felt powerless and scared and alone. The sword in his hands disappears into thin air. Marcus was even unable to notice its disappearance. “Looks like the real test is about to start,” Clint spoke with a grin as he saw Marcus started anxiously gazing in every direction back and forth.
