Blitz treated Clint's wounds and gazes at him with wonder. Clint notices this and instantly knew what was running through Blitz's mind. So Clint recited the events that had lead him to such a state. “I was ambushed Blitz if you are wondering. It was a monster that I unexpected. That beast was able to hide his presence, and the pitch-black dark area was not helping me.” “Clint, your wounds are all patch up,” Blitz spoke as he puts the medical tools in its bag. “Can you move your arms?” Blitz added. Clint tried moving his arms slightly. “It's still a little painful to move. But it's better now than before. Thanks a lot.” “So, do you have any idea what monster ambushed you, Clint?" The girl who stayed in Marcus's house ask. “Oh, you're still here, Jenna. Well, with your presence here. I have the assurance that our survival chance is higher.” “You know this girl, Clin- Oww!" An injured Lorenzo sitting next to Clint exclaimed. “What happened to you, Lorenzo?” “Why don't you ask that, girl Clint." “Anyway, Marcus, do you think this has to do with the masked man asking about Clint?” Blitz spoke as he gazes at Marcus leaning near the wall. “Don't you dare cut me off, Blitz, when I'm talking?” Lorenzo angrily protested. But Blitz ignored him and opened his ears to Marcus, who replied, “I have no clue about him.” Clint raises his right brow and asks, “mask man? Are you talking about the man that we meet in the nest, Marcus?” Marcus turns his face towards Clint and nods, “yes, it was the same man. The man who uses fire.” Clint put his index finger under his chin and wondered. “Hmm, I think these two aren't connected. That masked man would have attacked me head-on if I was indeed his target.” “So the monster that ambushed you is not connected, then if that's the case, who else would have attacked you,” Blitz replied to Clint. Clint crossed his injured arms and thought to himself once again. His face was full of concentration, trying hard to remember the past. Then it came. Clint gasp and points his index finger up the ceiling. Like a light bulb appeared in his head, the people around him became intrigued. All four of them focused their gaze on Clint, who seems to remember something. “I don't remember anything at all," Clint exclaimed proudly. The four people who anticipated his answer drop to the floor after his nonsensical words. Clint had a confused expression upon seeing on the people around him. “Did you guys expect something different?” “Of course!” the four people replied in unison. “Sorry about that then. But I'm telling you guys the truth. I don't remember anything.” Jenna let out a sigh and spoke, “Seriously, Clint, you don't have a single clue about the reason. Maybe you have done something to that monster to target you specifically.” “Wait!” Marcus exclaimed; the people around him then put their attention towards him. “What if the monster didn't specifically attack Clint. What if it was a coincidence.” “That would be another angle since monsters are sometimes attracted to cursed weapons wielded by hunters,” Jenna spoke as she crosses her arms and leans her back to the chair. The people inside the house look into one another. Their face filled with wonder at the mystery of the masked man and the monster. Sweeping through multiple ideas, they still had not found any plausible motives for the beast. But that night, Clint decided to stay in the house since he could not fight due to his current injuries. Going back to his home in such a state is suicidal. Not to mention that monsters will attack Clint on his house, injured. It is the same as committing suicide. On the other hand, if Clint stayed in Marcus's house. He had the assurance of three newbie hunters and one veteran. Making the current house, he was in the safest place he can stay for the night. The four hunters expect the monster to chase after Clint. So they decided to stay awake for the night. They were taking turns in watching the outside from the window of the house. Making sure the coast was clear of any potential threats. Eight pm, three hunters still awake. Lorenzo has dozed off due to the medicine he took. He was reducing the number of awake people in the house. The three hunters drank coffee as they gathered in the kitchen. They were trying their best to stay awake till morning. “This is the worst thing ever. Now we have to double our watch time in the window, with Lorenzo down.” Jenna complained as she held her mug of coffee. “You know it's also your fault why we lost one man. Suppose you didn't beat up Lorenzo. He wouldn't have to take that medicine. Then he would have been here with us looking out for the monster.” Blitz said to Jenna after he finishes his coffee. He then stood from his chair and said, “I'll be taking my turn to watch the front door. Marcus, you watch the back in the kitchen door after your done with your drink.” “For you, Jenna, you should watch the second floor. Keep watch of the openings there.” “Ok, boss.” Blitz immediately walks toward the front door. There he takes a peek at the door every five minutes. He was checking for any abnormalities happening. Marcus, on the other hand, stayed in the kitchen with his sword. Speaking of his sword, Mister Sword has refused to talk with Marcus after the training. The two had been cold toward each other. Both Marcus and Mister Sword were ignoring one another, like a bunch of kids. However, it still has not gotten out of control to the point that Marcus has become unable to wield Mister Sword. On the second floor, Jenna was watching at the window and waiting for any monster to appear. She gazes at the window with boredom, however, as he watches the stars that decorated the sky. She saw a silhouette mixed in the leads approaching her direction with incredible speed. Jenna smiles upon seeing the silhouette. She licks her lips and unleashes her chain. Upon grabbing her chain, she whipped it to the floor and spoke, “Looks like they are going for the attack after all. It's been a long time since I had fun. Now, let's see how good these monsters that defeated one of the organizations aces.” An all-out battle is about to erupt in Marcus's house. Is the monster indeed that powerful or just lucky.
