April's POV
Clanging sounds started going off in my head, it felt like it was stuffed with cotton wool. Evelyn was still talking but I couldn't hear what she was saying. I was looking straight at her and could see her lips moving, but she was getting father and father away from me. Like I was looking at her through a tunnel. My teeth started chattering, it wasn't cold so I guess it was shock.
An almighty howl rang out from inside of the hospital. Something inside me recognised that this was Lucas receiving the same news as I had been given but I couldn't pay it any attention. I felt like the world had started to slow down around me.
