April's POV
I woke up in bed with a dry throat and an awful headache. Headaches were common place after your first few shifts so I wasn't worried but man did I need some pain relief. I rolled over in bed and realised that I was on my own.
"Lucas?" I called out, but there was no reply. I sat myself up, which felt like a mammoth task considering how easy it was, and turned towards the nightstand. That's when I saw painkillers next to a tall glass of cranberry juice and a ham and cheese sandwich.
"I love you Lucas." I said out loud. I took the pills downed the juice and ate half the sandwich. I went to mind-link Lucas to tell him how much I adored him, along with other gooey stuff, but he was blocking.
He'd only ever done that when he had his sulk fest after Kelly was injured. I
