I'm not going to lie, slipping that bracelet over my broken hand whilst trying not to scream out in pain was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do. I grabbed the hem of the shirt I was wearing and stuffed it into my mouth. I took a couple of deep breaths through my nose and quickly pulled my hand out of the cuff. The pain blindsided me! The feel of the silver burning against my skin was one thing, but the hundreds of shattered bones in my hand, that was a completely different experience. My vision went black and I started to dry heave. It took a couple of minutes for the pain to subside slightly so that I didn't risk passing out.
